Do people really not understand that a Jaylon Johnson deal is virtually guaranteed. The bears will restrict him. Some other team will sign him to a contract. The Bears will match and he will be here for 4-5 more years.

Just like last year and just about every other year, there will be a run of QB at the top of the draft. Pennix will be a top 5 pick. Book it. Maybe someone like Jayden Daniels falls to them (and I kind of doubt that). Fields is better than Daniels, especially for a team ready to win today.

Any QB available at 8 won't be a qb who will be ready to lead them on Day 1.

Also, the Falcons aren't a QB away. Their defense is sieve. They have drafted alot of offensive weapons high, but I'm not sure if they are that good.

9 to 8 isn't worth much, maybe a 4th. What did the Bears get from Philly last year for 10 to 9?

That's why I think the path to get a 2025 1st is to trade down from the 9 and add Fields. What might be a 3rd and a 5th without Fields becomes a 2025 1st with him. If they trade Fields, they aren't trading the 1st overall pick.

I mentioned New Orleans upthread, but I read that Carr's contract is an even bigger disaster if they cut him. So the Raiders would be the logical target.
