Definitely Fields’s best game, though his final rating benefited from a lot of YAC, a shuffle pass TD, and an unconscious catch by Mooney.

I don't count the bomb to Mooney as a fluke since that seems to be one of only a couple things Fields practiced in the offseason.

Pettis had two drops on catchable balls, so I guess things kind of even out.

I completely agree.
Giants and Vikes arent great teams, but after being down big the Bears have had the ball with a chance to win late. This roster, on paper, is complete garbage yet the Bears are making plays. Down 21-3 on the road, a Nagy team would have lost 38-10.

Eberflus might be laying a pretty decent Foundation here.

Yep! They've made adjustments in the second half of every game. That's a sign of good coaching.

The halftime adjustments have been good, but the Vikings let the Bears back in the game when they stopped throwing to Jefferson.

Reminded me of the Steelers game last year. Pittsburgh fucked around long enough to let the Bears back in.

I think that it is but I also think that on defense someone has to put these guys in better positions. I don't know who is responsible for adjusting the players when on the field but it is awful how long it takes to stop the other teams in the first half. I'd say that next season one of the biggest priorities is a smart linebacker who can lead a defense.

Why on earth did the vikings stop throwing dragons to jefferson? That's all they had to do.

The Bears changed to more bracket type coverage in the 2nd half.

It shouldn't have taken that long though.

Winnable game for the Bears. Neither Gordon or Brisker has won a game this season for the Bears, but a George Pickens would not have drop passes like Pettes or fumbled on that last play like Smith-Marcette. This loss is on Poles. That said, I hope that the Poles and Bears lock Fields up as their long term QB for the next decade.

The Vikings are not a good team. They could easily be 1-4 right now, but have gotten breaks when they needed them. I had them at 8-9 to start the season, but didn't expect them to go 4-1 out of the gate. I think they come back to earth and finish 9-8.

Fields completed 12 of his last 13 passes.

It looked like the Bears were still giving Jefferson plenty of cushion at the line. I don't think the Bears could have stopped him on the short routes if Cousins had kept going to him.

The Bears' initial defensive game plans the past two weeks have been pretty disastrous.

Unlike most games, I didn’t leave this loss with the main takeaway that Fields sucks.

That’s progress.

I'm not sure why the Bears run so much on second down. They should go to more play-action on 2nd now that they have established that they like to run then.

Dominique Robinson makes a play every game.

If this team identifies 6-7 guys that they believe can play, I think the season is a success.

Gordon had a better game today as well. Back to Back plays in particular where he was one-on-one and made nice open field tackles to save a first down.

Which is why I think that Jaylen Jones was playing today, instead of Lamar Jackson.

I couldn't agree more.

Cousins was allowed to sit in the pocket without any pressure for his first sixteen passes.

That's crazy.

Why is it crazy? That's a staple of the soft Tampa 2 defense.
