Interesting move, Steelers think they have a top D and just need competent QB play, they did not see Fields as a competent QB, and apparently many other NFL teams feel the same way.

Most of the negatives on Wilson is that he is a tool as a teammate and phony with the media, it would seem that if anyone could coach the tool out of him it would be Tomlin.

Fields is trending more toward Mitch 2.0 at this point, but still think there is a GM out there who sees the athleticism and thinks they can coach him up, just need to find that guy, but your returns are diminishing, especially if Atlanta signs Cousins.

What a sad end to the Justin Fields era in Chicago, a guy that is one of the top rushing QB's in NFL history, but has so much bad tape out there as a passer that teams do not feel he is fixable.

I realize his comments were taken out of context, but I'm surprised Fields' complaint about too much information being fed to him isn't mentioned more frequently. His coachability has been questioned a few times, especially when you see how lazy his footwork continued to be early in the season. That's something Getsy has been working on with him for over a season. As much as people complain that Getsy's play calling sucked, I think its also viable that Getsy had to continue dumbing down his playbook because of Fields.

There's no doubt plays had to be super simplified because of Fields' limitations, that's not even a question. And I agree with you on being surprised Fields' outburst isn't brought up more, especially when he dismissed learning how to play in the pocket by derisively referring to it as "pocket stuff". Not being able to do "pocket stuff" is precisely why teams are passing on acquiring Fields left and right.

only takes 2 teams bidding against each other, just because teams have signed Gardner Brissett Levis Mayfield Rodgers NobodyYet doesn't mean they still wouldn't wanna take a run at the pick.

Problem is the league as a whole seems to have cooled on C-Will coming out of the combine, so the 1st overall no longer The Precious it was pre-combine. Redskins fallen in love with Jayden Daniels (which should gives the Bears pause, considering the guy making that call coached C-Will at USC). And Pats have too many roster holes to fill to give away a grip of draft picks for a 1st overall rookie QB with a lot of questions and only stock cliche answers.

Redskins thing could be an attempted negotiating position, but they are selling their fans on Daniels currently.
