A card carrying member of Groupthink might be "lead" to believe this.

What I said was factual.

The Eagles were interested in Fields but thought he wasn’t valuable enough to meet the Bears’ price. So they chose Pickett over Fields

This is silly and actually very "CFMBesque" in fact. Brick's original point claimed that Philly "chose" Pickett over Fields. Graziano's point says nothing of the sort.

If you believe the report, they were interested in Fields but chose Pickett over him given the cost.

It's clear from the report that they "settled" for the lesser player because the Bears wanted too much (in their opinion at least) for the guy THEY REALLY WANTED.

Right. We’re saying the same thing.

They didn’t think Fields was worth the cost and were fine choosing the Pickett option.

*if the reporting is correct

Nothing in the report suggests that Philly had a "choice" between the 2 players and "chose" Pickett

The report literally says they talked to the Bears but couldn’t agree on a price. That was the choice.

Of course that was the "choice" Philly made.

I have a sneaking suspicion the Steelers "choose" Fields as a backup to Wilson for that 3rd round pick they just got for Pickett. We shall see. But he's not even on the trading block according to LTG, so maybe not.

No, my reading and comprehension is just fine, but your response shouldn’t shock me.

Also, if you believe Mr. Fields is an All Pro quarterback, how is the possibility of maybe being a backup in Pittsburgh a W for you?

I didn't bother to count them but it is really funny that you guys were arguing about the truth of a THEORETICAL DEAL BETWEEN THE BEARS AND THE EAGLES THAT MOST LIKELY DIDN'T HAPPEN GIVEN THAT THE SO-CALLED "SOURCE" CITED AVAILABLE SOURCES WHICH OF COURSE RE NOT IDENTIFIED.

All the proof I need that fields is not the guy is the lack of interest from other teams. Nobody is making their case to acquire him.
Of course that's the proof. What I know is that by watching his games I can clearly see he's not great, probably isn't good, and is likely bad.

If he goes to Pittsburgh he won't be a backup. And how do "we" know that you, as a Packer fan, aren't pulling the old "swerve" move with all of your Justin Fields dissing? I think that secretly you know that he is a player and want him out of the division as a result of it

He is not starting ahead of Wilson in Pittsburgh, period unless an injury. I have seen plenty of Fields and I assure you there is no concern about an NFL quarterback that can’t play quarterback.

Again all of this sounds well when you say it to other members of "Groupthink". But to a "Long Time" observer of the NFL it means nothing. Justin Fields is easily in the top 5 when it comes to talent at the QB position in the NFL. And that includes your beloved Jordan Love. It would be insane to just give up on someone like that until you know for certain that the talent will not be actualized.
