He has more charisma. I doubt anyone that saw him take a knee a few years ago against the Ravens would rave about his game management.

Well, plus, he's white, so that too.

They won that game RPB. The Broncos lost. With 2 timeouts you have to trust Manning and your big legged kicker to win the game.

If I had a choice between Fox or Lovie I would take Lovie. If I was looking for a coach for this Bears team I wouldn't call either of them.

Outcome doesnt matter when judging the decision on its own. The Lovie decision was worse. He had a 100% chance to not lose that game and he opened the door

Fox's situation was not nearly as much of a no brainer.

Well if you're comparing the two coaches, I think its relevent to bring up that Fox beat Lovie in Chicago as the lower seeded team

I like Fox. Always have. I liked Lovie. We just disagree. I wouldnt have been against a young coordinator eitehr.

Fair enough. I think a guy like Fox should have replaced Lovie. I just think it's a bad hire now.

it definitely is.

bears will be 10-6 or whatever for the next few years.

win a couple playoff games

there will be no superbowl appearances, and fox will leave.

bears will be in same position 4 years from now when fox retires

fuck the bears

John Fox is a great hire. Who is a better alternative? He's an experienced head coach with credibility who has been successful. If he brings Kyle Shanahan or Peyton Manning with him, its an even better hire. I also think that he has enough red ass in him to not let Teddy or anyone else push him around or tell him what to do.

He was 81-79 before Peyton Manning arrived.

Ike if the Bears are 10-6 I will love the Fox hire. Sure I'll get drunk around July and predict 12 wins but right now I would be shocked if they win 8 games.

There are many head coaches who didnt have a great start. Bill Belichick for one.

Who would you prefer the Bears hire?

A coordinator from Seattle. I would be happy with either one. I think Quinn may be better though.

How as a fan, can you possibly have a strong opinion on either? Neither has been a head coach, neither is getting selected by any other teams despite a lot of interviews, and both have some pretty unreal talent that they are coaching.

It's the same as any coordinator... I can't see how anyone can have a strong feeling from the outside.

Seattle doesn't have a lot of talent on offense. The Seahawks defense has lost a lot of pieces but Quinn has plugged the holes and got them to buy into his system. The system makes some players look better. I've seen everything I have needed to see from Fox and that is why I don't think he is the right hire for this Bears team.

Ok... and? The same Peyton Manning that was putting up gaudy numbers but clearly not in his prime anymore. And what kind of bullshit is this? Are no coaches allowed to have great players anymore? Because every great coach has great players. Bellichick has had Brady during his entire run except for one year when he was injured and during that one year he won some games but he didn't win the super bowl or even get there. Should we only look at Bellichick's career accomplishments as a head coach without Brady because they would be minimal. The same could be done with a coach like Bill Walsh. During his run as head coach of the 49er's he had either Montana or both Montana and Rice. He didn't actually start to win games until Montana became the starter and became really good. Does this mean that Walsh wasn't actually a good coach? Your argument is simplistic and something I would expect from a dumbass radio caller.

we should have never got rid of lovie. fire angelo and bring in emery would have been the way to go. lovie did exactly what the coach needs to do, get his players to play. he shouldnt be drafting, but he was good at cutting loafers and bad players. he would have demoted mclealin within weeks.

Seattle has a top 5 QB for one. And a top 3 RB.

And my guess is Bevell isn't getting the credit for the Offense in NFL circles, considering he hasn't interviewed anywhere.

Why should his record be overlooked? He was an average coach before Manning arrived and I believe he is still an average coach. Comparing Walsh or Belichick to Fox is beyond silly. Fox hasn't done anything over the past 3 years that leads me to believe he is the right guy for this Bears team.

Wilson isn't a top 5 QB and Lynch has lost a few steps. Beyond them the offense doesn't have much talent. Bevell must be terrible in interviews.

I'd say coaching in the Super Bowl less than one calendar year ago is a good thing.

He took over a 1-15 Carolina team and had them in the Super Bowl two seasons later. That Carolina team had started the year 1-0 then dropped the rest of the games that season. They were the second team in the NFL history to lost 15 in a row.

That should read he hasn't interviewed this year.
