He is a good player, but fuck is that guy an unmotivated douche (at least as far as being motivated to play for the Bears).

soft tissue injuries that last longer than doctor expectations, no working out with the team and yesterday, not having his helmet and gloves on when it was time for the offense to take the field

As I said, he is a good player but you are asking for trouble building anything around him.

Yes, then the PPF Playmaker Divestiture Initiative will be complete. If they can get a 5th rounder for him it will be a victory for the future.

The desire by this FO and dumbass Bear fans to run Alshon Jeffrey out of town is mind blowing.

All the other guys they got rid of always answered the bell on game day and are still big producers in the league.

He is a strong #2 WR and should be treated accordingly.

I didn't rewatch the play, but a caller to the morning show said that after the interception, Jeffrey quit and didn't make an attempt to pursue the interceptor. I think Mully opined that maybe you don't want one of your few skill players risking injury, but agreed it was bad optics.

The Bears' chance of drafting a better WR is nil. Douche or not, they have nothing to replace him.

alshon is 26 and is elite.... they would be stupid to get rid of him.... so with that stated, they are going to get rid of him

I didn't say get rid of him. Don't pay him long term. However, at some point the tag will become prohibitively high and then he will need to go

He appears to have as much passion as Cutler.

I'd rather have Dak Prescott than Cutler, he was a 4th round pick this year..every year there is a guy or two I'd rather have than Jay...he's easily replaceable.. I like Alshon, he's not tag worthy though, too pricey..have to give him a 3 or 4 year deal..its a no brainer.

Disagree. You have a team trying to rebuild that happens to have a young -now developed- top tier player at his position.. and you don't want to lock him up?

Dolphin pls

1) He makes it pretty clear that he doesn't want to be here. You cannot force him to sign. You can tag him again this off season.
2) He spends plenty of time on the sidelines due to injury in contract year situations. Do you think he will tough it out for the team once he gets his payday?

The bears could gave signed him last year to a 4 year 60 million dollar deal with 25 guaranteed..he's making 15.6 this year on that tag. Next year a tag will be over 16....

The money is not what bothers me. He is a top wide receiver when he plays

You cant just leave DeShaun Watson with Kevin White, Zach Miller and Eddie Royal and expect success.

Does not want to play in Chicago and will continue to get injured until he is able to leave.

Who other then Bernstein has ever tried to show any evidence of this?

Seems like commons sense that he wouldn't want to be a Bear. He's entering his prime and the Bears are a dogshit team that hasn't even started year 1 of a rebuild yet.

Yeah maybe and he is from the south. But the only thing I ever heard anyone broadcast or write anything was Bernsie "guessing" about it because he didn't have friends here. You know his guy said...

Now may end up being the time to offer that longer term deal for moderate money.
