They were pretty shitty.

I don't like Jackson at all. Preinjured and wouldn't be sniffing the 4th round if he played anywhere but Alabama.

I'd have rather had Wilson or Jerome. I'd have taken Malone instead of Cohen.

This concerns me.

Any take on Lawson or King (even tho the Bears didn't grab either one)?

I really liked Lawson, especially mid round as far as value goes. Can never have too many pass rushers imo. He has a lot of health concerns too tho.

I'd be concerned why King dropped so much. I don't know why.

But, sure, either of those guys over Jackson.

On this one, I have to say, WTF.

I know you need bodies at RB, but c'mon, the Bears have a lot of needs, and RB is not one of them. Forget that drafting the best player available nonsense. It's stupid.

Didn't we try drafting an undersized RB before with Wolfe from Northern? It was a mistake. Doesn't Pace know anything of the Bears history???

Pace has to be living in a bubble. He's either not speaking or not listening to anyone that has a modicum of football sense.

Heck, if you wanted a running back, you could have taken Dalvin Cook from FSU at 35 and that would have been a great pick, but you traded down

Well the Cohen pick wont be a mistake because of Garrett Wolfe, he was drafted literally 10 years ago...hardly relevant.

Comparable size = comparable performance. A 5'7" running back in the NFL doesn't stand a chance, as Wolfe showed. I don't care if he won the Heisman.

Da Bears already drafted a QB in the first round back with that McNown guy...

The Wolfe comp is no worse than the Sproles comp.., all the Pace Pollyanna's are making. Sproles was an anomaly.

I dont like the pick at all, but to say it is bad because of a comp to Wolfe is just ignorant.

I'm trying to think of successfully RB's in the league, that make an impact, even in a complimentary role. It's not a large sample size.

I don't think the comp is directly attached to to success or failure, its just funny is all.

Brian Westbrook, Ray Rice, Maurice Jones Drew, Darren Sproles, Barry Sanders(!), Warrick Dunn...you dont need to be tall to play runningback at a very high level in the NFL.

Also, we tried the tiny RB experiment twice now. Wofe and more recently Jaquizz Rogers. Their nimbleness is negated in crappy weather/grass. They need to be on a dome/turf team, (or better weather).

There have been throughout history and continue to be a great deal of successful runningbacks in the NFL. I can prove this.

Take Westbrook, Ray Rice and MJD out of there...they were all pushing 200 or higher and could run over people as well as around.

I think Sanders was over 200 pounds as well for what its worth.

Yes, I was trying to give him the benefit of doubt, but that was a silly post. MJD was a freaking freight train.

Those were all touted, high draft picks except Sproles, maybe Westbrook.

And you know for a fact Cohen cant run over people? Big consumer of North Carolina A&T football are ya?

You wanted examples of short runningbacks who have been successful and I gave it to you, dont go needling that list now that you're idiotic premise that RB's must be tall has been shattered.

The only thing that will save the Cohen pick is if he can become an elite kick/punt returner as that position has been an albatross since Hester. But I don't see it, while he's shifty, he has only good, not great acceleration.

I never said anything about height. I said tiny running backs. And at 5'7 180, you aren't running over anybody in the NFL.

You are literally saying something about height in the exact same post you claim to not be saying anything about height.

I don't know if Cohen will be good or not, the pick just doesn't make sense to me given what the teams needs were and what was still on the board at that point. Pace is making moves that don't jive in accordance with continuing to build the team in a way that makes sense.

I'll let you choose, RFDC. Of the top 10 or 20 greatest running backs, which one was a midget?

Many of the best were around 6 ft. or taller. Jim Brown 6'2", Marcus Allen 6'2", O.J. 6'1", Erik Dickerson 6'3", etc.

Walter was one of the exceptions at 5'10". But that still isn't 5'7 or 5'6", which this guy probably is.

No idea if the pick is good or not but he sounds like Dennis Gentry.

Barry Sanders and Emmit Smith were both 5'8 or 5'9 and they are 2 of the all time greats.

But that is not even the discussion here.

To say that the Bears draft pick is going to be bad because Wolfe was bad is just stupid. It is stupid logic.

Chris Johnson was a small back as well

If I draft a small back, I'm looking for someone with blazing speed. Cohens speed is good it not great

How do you feel about the 2nd day selections? How do you feel about the draft overall?

Doc feel free to answer these question too.
