The Bears will retain Nagy and Pace because they're good communicators, they showed candor in the post season postmortem, and they appear to have a plan.
2021 will be a poisonous cloud of pain. We're gonna give Pace another shot at a QB even after Glennon, (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky and Foles.
They'll probably win 6 games.
Maybe its time to watch other teams.

I love a good dumpster fire, but not three in one year- Bears, Cubs, and Hawks.

The Sox WS run will allow them to go unnoticed. :D

That only increases my pain. And while I am happy for their fandom, I wish it would line up with the Cubs being competitive. Much more exciting if both teams are in the playoffs.

Even if the Sox have a WS run that will never take any attention off the Bears.

Sox look like they are gonna be heavy favorites for a AL championship but let's not start celebrating anything yet. They have baseball Joe Biden managing them and they're still pretty young. The way they kinda rolled over at the end of the 2020 season left a bad taste in my mouth. Id like to hope that was a Ricky thing and that problem is solved. I like their chances but I'm worried about management.

This is the absolute worst news for Entrecom.

They have radio rights which nobody will care to listen to by next October, their all sports station can't go negative unless Entrecom is willing to just punt and hate-broadcast the games ... but that risks their properties in other NFL cities. So the Score's fall/winter ratings will tank like hell because only Dr. Gupta will advertise.

The Score survived it's early transient years because of the Bears being good and Ditka being Ditka. A shitty stand pat Bears team combined with few people commuting by car to work means nobody is listening.

They beefed up 9-noon to compete with MVP for guys streaming from home between Zoom calls. But what the hell is there to talk about for three hours a day between now and whenever the baseball season starts? They really needed someone in Lake Forest to get whacked today.

Next year will be no different. I have no fucking clue what else the front office needs to see -the offense will be mediocre/bad under a supposed ‘offensive genius’, they will lose almost every game they play against a good team, their rival will go 2-0 against them, and they will finish around .500.

What fucking else is there? You know they’re bad right now, today. Get rid of them right now, today, and move on until you get it right. How hard is this really?

Btw.. read an article yesterday that said the Bears playoff game rating was down 25% compared to their last appearance. That’s insane considering watching on TV was pretty much the only option.

The McCaskeys are content being a perennial #7 seed, which in a division with the Lions and Minnesota in it is easy enough to do three of the next five years until the NFC East is competitive.

By then Ginny will die, they will sell to deal with the estate taxes, and they will retire to Florida.

I dont really grasp the tax situation that is referenced when she dies? Why would they need to sell team at that point for it?

Something to do with estate taxes. God forbid the Biden administration changes the estate tax rates, the IRS could end up owning them. :)

The McCaskeys do not have the personal wealth to afford the estate tax when she passes. At least that is what most people think.

people have been waiting for the old lady to die since the Super Bowl bears in 86.

she's outlived everyone. she don't seem like she's going anytime soon.

it's clear Phillips runs this club. He has played his game masterfully and while he's not official owner he basically is defacto owner.
