Bears signed LT Charles Leno to a four-year, $38 million extension through 2020.
A 2014 seventh-round pick, Leno has started 29-of-32 games the past two seasons. He was Pro Football Focus' No. 53 tackle out of 76 qualifiers last season after checking in at 49-of-76 the previous year. The Bears see upside in the soon-to-be 26-year-old and keep in tact the left side of their line. At $9.5 million per year, Leno is the league's 14th-highest-paid left tackle.

All that matters is the guaranteed money. This could very easily be a deal where the Bears win big and lock him up cheap if he breaks out or just cut him with no ramifications if he looks like shit.

Now if they are giving him a fat amount of bonus money they won't be able to dump at a moment's notice I'll be a little confused.

The Bears are trying to stabilize their ofensive line for their quarterbacks of now and the future, and they extended the blind-side protector Wednesday.

A league source tells PFT the Bears are close to a contract extension with left tackle Charles Leno.

The deal is reportedly worth $38 million over four years, with $21.5 million in guarantees.

Leno has become a solid piece for the Bears, who have invested in free agents Bobby Massie and Josh Sitton the last two offseasons in an effort to shore up their front line.

The former seventh-round pick from Boise State was entering the final year of his rookie deal.

It's almost like he set a delayed-fuse on all his head-scratching moves to suddenly become genius acquisitions just this year. Some guys like Sims or White are still bums but holy shit if he didn't suddenly build himself one hell of a team all of a sudden.

Mack is obviously the star in the middle and makes he whole thing go, but he has a good cast around him.

Leonard Floyd will fool you because he hasn't been there on the sacks, but he has been very good this year. If you actually look at him as a linebacker who's main jobs are to cover and stop the run he's been well worth a 1st round pick.
