I don't mind shortening the pre season, but I'm not in favor of adding regular season games as a result. I think 16 games is the perfect storm of a number for the season. Adding more will just mean NFL teams will be more damaged and more worn out come the end of the year -not to mention torturous for fans who's teams are terrible. You'll most likely shorten careers even more too by adding games.


I do think some pre season games are necessary tho (2 would be perfect imo). In college you can get away with going live right away because the combination of talent gaps between most teams and the ability to schedule cupcake schools early to help the team transition into the season. I always find it amusing when this conversation comes up and people try to point at how college does it without pointing out the actual differences between the two.
