Each team passed on Tom Brady 6 times!

But seriously, that literally means nothing. Players fall through the cracks and exceed expectations all the time.

I know. Just being a dick.

That type of shit happens more often than you would think.

Meredith is good, not great. They'll find a way to replace his production, a claim I would not be comfortable making about their offensive line or Howard.

Also it's just an ACL tear it seems, so he should make a full recovery.

Do you want (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky popping his cherry with this group of receivers? I know I don't. They need to sign an elite guy to help with his development.

It's not simply about numbers. What's important is the weapon/threat at the position and how defenses game plan against that. Yeah, they can do some interesting multiple TE sets with Sims, Miller(until his week 3 IR) and Shaheen, but without play-makers at wide receiver, defenses will compress the field.

Not really, but this is what the Bears have. It was hardly a special group even with Meredith anyways. Somebody will step up. It could be Gentry, Thompson or somebody not on the roster...but they'll find another 500-600 yard receiver.

White has to be good this year. No more of his bullshit.

I'm pretty sure White isn't going to suddenly get good

I'm not hopeful either. Deonte Thompson looks better than White.

Future Raider WR roster cuts like KJ Brent will be worth a look.

If the Dolphins are serious about moving Landry that's certainly worth considering. Not sure what it'll cost to resign/extend him though.

Landry would have to cost a 1st or 2nd, which the Bears just are not in a position to give up. I would definitely be interested in him as a free agent when they dump Glennon though.

College teams: 29 fall practices
15 spring practices

It looks like NFL teams "practice" 5 times a week for 6 weeks with a game thrown in there for four weeks for about 30 practices before the first game + 4 preseason games.

They also seem to have more than 15 OTA/minicamp things but some of those seem to be "optional".

To put it another way, I can't come up with any way of saying that college players practice more than NFL players.

Maybe not more but the practice is more useful I'd say. College teams roster 100 players and can and do go live in many of those practices. So they can get that full speed experience through just practice. I believe the NFL restricts the amount of days in full pads so the preseason games account for a large part of their "live" practice time. In college it is just a time restriction and no contact both practices of 2-a-days.

Now do you think Fox shouldn't be criticized for having (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky in the game yesterday? They could have gotten a monkey to hand off the ball and play in that last drive, not your 1st round QB and hope for the franchise. Pure stupidity. The Tribune is all over him today, and rightly so. He should be fired, because he is clueless.
