Had you graduated from big boy pull ups in 1985?

I'm sorry but I just don't want to broach 1985 discussions with anyone under 40.

As it is, some don't seem to even understand that my point was that 32 years ago is a helluva lot longer than 8 years ago

he's always had fumbling problems. but lately he's been able to at least rack up yards.

Keep your mouth shut if you put the ball on the ground twice.

Wasn't Ingram the guy that was known for never fumbling in his life through college?

That is not what you said.

Clearly the last ten years for the Saints has been better than the Bears. Its not close.

To suggest that the 2009 season or that the Saints performance in SB XLIV is better than the 1985 season or the Bears peformance in SB XX is absurd.

Awfully sober analysis from a guy relegated to the basement with liquor. The bears win this game with one wr. The Saints are fool's gold imo

Had to pause on the liquor. Been playing pool with a 10-year-old for 3 hours and trying to watch the game.

She's gotten pretty good though.

Not as good as me.

Liquor will resume soon, I hope.

Liquor is resuming!

Yeah, that didn't work out. Couple more hours of pool study.

That girl is going to steal a bunch of bar pool money in the future.

Liquor is resuming now! For real.

Taking away the Miller TD was a worse call than the Dez Bryant catch and maybe even worse than the Calvin Johnson catch.

I thought (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was going to get killed on that 2-point conversion.

What in the world are you talking about?

I think that my post above is clear. 32 years is a fucking eternity in sports. No one has ever suggested that the Saints run was qualitatively better than what the bears did when most here were learning to count. Just pointing out the ludicrous nature of some still over valuing a long ago team most here don't remember as opposed to one that had their time in the sun damn near a full decade ago.

Their similarly ridiculous one time since the Beatles.

Ditka and the lucky sperm club fucked up everything after that year. And I've had no use for that waste of a franchise since. I have fast fading interest in the shitty owner in New Orleans as well.

If Ditka hadn't brought in an unqualified dwarf off the street and completely alienated his team, i'd wholeheartedly agree with you

Still would have been a tough row to hoe.

They needed McMahon that year.

True, but the Giants may not have scored 14 points against them. Ditka completely split that team which may still have been otherwise good enough.

And we'd never have to have heard Simms the broadcaster

So far I would say I have no idea how good he can be. He seems stuck in some coach/gm vortex.

I dont think it is fair to call him Glennon.

He has been better than Glennon even with the hand cuffs.

he's not at all like glennon. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is very mobile, and has good accuracy on the run. if they open up the playbook for him, and let him start running an offense, i think it'll reveal his skills. i know they don't want to fully expose him just to keep him safe...and it helps that they have a healthy run game.

Besides not opening the playbook, the Bears had 3/5 of their O-Line injured.

You did not say any of this initially. You simply posted that "2009 > 1985", which I assumed was an all encompassing 'greater than' sign in the middle. You did not qualify that with any explanation.

I do not disagree with much of what you posted after. However, 1985 remains one of the single most dominant seasons among any pro-sports team and nothing you can say will ever change that.

I was saying he's no more effective than Glennon, not that they are the same type of player.

That's common for a rookie though. Manning had a completion percentage about 9 points lower than his career average in his rookie year. Many other quarterbacks didn't even play their first year that ended up really good. The adjustment to the speed of the game takes time especially for a guy who played only one true season in college. That's why it is better to see that he can throw a deep and accurate ball and that he is showing good touch on shorter passes. Some of them look bad because they are bad.

Now, that sounds Cutler-like, but you can say those things about a rookie. You can't say it about a guy in his 6th year.

Vascular surgeons are trying to save Bears TE Zach Miller's leg, not just his career, per @mortreport.

Holy shit.
