Know who else (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's stats compare to in his rookie year? Cade McNown, except (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's completion percentage is even lower at 53% versus 55% as of right now.

I was willing to give Mitch the benefit of the doubt in his first year. I am no longer seeing it. He does not have a high ceiling, and if his floor is taking better care of the ball than Stafford, that's nothing to be excited about.

Pace has to be fired now. He's O for with both his head coach and QB picks. Nothing can turn this franchise around, short of getting a new GM. What was so great about Pace in the first place? He was a nobody.

They got him cheap and he agreed to keep Cutler. Music to the McCaskeys' ears, and Phillips knew he'd be his lap dog.

I thought the actual story was that he was from the Saints and learned there and helped them a lot.

The whole (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky = Brees, Cohen = Sproles, and Shaheen = Graham isn't looking too good right now.

You told me this pud (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was accurate passer too. I told you this guy sucks.

This makes me feel even better about not judging (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky this season.

A guy that had virtually zero experience as a QB hasn't been turnover prone and has looked decent despite not having 1 good receiving target.

You have an extremely low bar for "looked decent". He's been one of the worst QBs in the NFL by virtually every measure.

Geno Smith is going to look decent this weekend too despite not having 1 good receiving target.

I've heard Jeff Dickerson say Mitch is the second worst all time QBR through 7 games.

It's not my fault he couldn't beat out a bum in college til he was a senior. Wentz had shitty receivers last year, he made them better..he looked the part game one season one last year.

That stat you cited should be a cause for ire that Pace drafted (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky at all, let alone at #2, while giving away two 3rd round picks and a 4th. Pure stupidity.

Hub wrote about this today in the Daily Herald, questioning in the headline, "Did Pace tab right QB of future in (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky?", comparing him to Garoppolo, who "left EIU as experienced and polished as (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was unknown and untested when the Bears drafted him." Ouch.

While Hub didn't answer his rhetorical question, he said that the Bears "almost certainly could have had Garoppolo a lot cheaper than they got (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky.

Pretty obvious this article was about buyer's remorse.

BTW, that must have been a misspelling in the title of Hub's article, which was in the Pro Football Weekly section of the Herald. You wouldn't say "tab" there, but "tap", yes. But since Hub is the editor, he didn't catch his own mistake.

6 fumbles (3 lost) & 4 interceptions = 7 turnovers in 7 games = not turnover prone?

Two of those interceptions were at the end of the game when he had to chuck it down field and hope for the best.

But yea, he's been bad. I want to believe but the lack of accuracy is scary.

He's mostly handing the ball off too, If he was throwing 30 plus times a game he'd have an obscene amount of turnovers.

Sterling Shepherd would be the top WR on the Bears. Engram has developed into a top 5 pass catching TE in just his rookie season

Marquise Williams was a very good college QB and pretty successful. Despite that, UNC coaches were giving (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky series at substantive parts of the games and (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was succeeding.

Wentz had Jordan Matthews (2nd round pick) Nelson Agholor (1st round pick) and Dorial Green Beckham (2nd round pick) as his WR and Zack Ertz (2nd round) and Brent Celek as his TE. Matthews caught 73 passes and Ertz 78.

The Bears top pass catcher is a RB. Their top WR has 31 catches. The next top WR has 13. THIRTEEN! I don't think we understand how insanely bad this WR group is.

None of this is to say (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky has played well. It is to say that, while you might not think much of what these other teams have at WR, they are so far ahead of what the Bears have it doesn't even warrant comparison. This Bear WR group has to rank as the least talented in football in quite some time.

Anecdotally, Inman is a nice #4 WR. He immediately became the best WR on this team with one week of practice. The best WR performance of the year was by Tre Mc Bride who was a player cut from a practice squad.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky has to throw into a teacup because there is zero separation being created by WR. How many times have we seen analysts break down a play showing nobody open? Where do these WR rank in YAC? Mitch has been inaccurate and his mechanics have regressed but he is getting zero help. Kendall Wright on crossing patterns seems to be the only play that gets open.

The bears may not have a receiver gain 500 yards this year.

This is a real surprise to me. Earlier this year I would have said (and maybe did?) that no matter the QB or the wr corps at least one has to crack 600 just given the game today.

This sounds about right. Maybe the Bears are better off in a 2 TE formation. Brown and Shaheen might give him better targets. He can't throw deep anyway consistently.

Yeah every single excuse for (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky should intensify calls to fire Pace. The guy's 2 biggest moves this offseason were pursuing a guy who lost his job to Josh McCown in Tampa and trading up for a quarterback who, unfortunately and completely unbeknownst to everyone, only started 13 games in college. Both of these moves were celebrated by some fans, despite the glaring needs the Bears had all over the field, because "you need a good quarterback to win in today's NFL" and "you have to respect Pace for making bold moves to get his guy." Now we're seeing what happens when you think you may have gotten your guy while ignoring everything else.

So your contention is that he should have fixed everything else in one draft, while ignoring the single most important position in all of sports?
