It's a short sample size, but in your opinion was Mitch the better pick?

I am starting to worry about (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky’s accuracy. A supposed strength has not looked that way so far. He is missing quite a number of throws.

As of today Watson is far and away the better QB.

But things change quickly in the NFL. It was not that long ago that RGIII was thought to be a great young QB and Andrew Luck was going to be the next big thing....

I’m holding off my decision until I see (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky throw to an NFL wide-receiver.

He makes a lot of nice throws. Other throws are off but not shocking for a rookie. Lots of drops too.

Pretty much.

Watson was always the better choice in the short term. I think he will also be better in the long term but hopefully not by leaps and bounds. Pace will be long since fired before we know for sure.

Mitch won't have along shelf life if he takes hits like he did today. He popped back up but those shots add up.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's athleticism looks good. His pocket presence and accuracy aren't there yet. And he has no receivers. We'll see. Kizer has been much worse. Watson has been better and the word is out on Mahomes. Long way before judgements can be made.

I haven't watched a ton of Mitch but today I got to see all 4 quarters. I get a Flacco vibe from him. Thats not bad though.

Watson being this good is an indictment of Pace. You had to give up a ton of picks because you didn't want Watson if the low odds of (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky being gone actually happened?

Fire Pace.

I think at worst he will be an average quarterback... Which for us that means he will be our best ever.

The kid is 23 and it shows... But look at the shit show he was thrown into and he is holding his own. Imagine if he had people to throw to.

And there's a very good chance this guy is a top 5 qb within 3 years. He has what it takes, just needs to develop more.

I don't think that is really be design. This OLine is not good at pass blocking. Down their two best OLinemen yesterday, and it was a jailbreak for the Saints on MANY plays.

Not seeing anything to be excited about with (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky.

He will probably never be as good as Jay Cutler.

Unfortunately, you may be right. And there will be the same excuses year after year...no receivers, revolving door of coordinators, etc.

I don't want to say I am excited, but rather I am hopeful. Howard drops what is probably a TD pass. Miller caught a TD pas that was taken away. I recall a few other key drops like one by Sims. He should have had a few TD passes, and his completion percentage should have been higher.

I am concerned by his happy feet in the pocket as he doesn't get set too well. Part of that is shaky line blocking. I am also worried about the way the ball comes out of his hands. He threw several wobbly balls.

He is probably as raw as they come given his lack of college experience. It wouldn't shock me to see his full development take three years.

Does anyone care that Watson threw three INTs yesterday?

Nope. There is a pretty big dislike of Ryan Pace, and it's just a way to attack him for his picks. At this point, the jury is wholly out. He has found some playmakers, and the Bears have a very good defense. The team had nothing when he got here. They have overcome injuries and look competitive.

The only thing I care about is his talent evaluation. He has found enough guys that I am hopeful. It's not like Pace has a good organization around him. Oh but Glennon.

Same thing happened to Glennon in week 1.

4 touchdowns makes the 3 picks go down easier.

I thought about that immediately. Glennon got screwed on that last drive.

But he was so horrible in Tampa....my goodness. I wanted him to be a good placeholder.

I'll have to look up the #3-4 WR for the Texans to see if they also would be the best WR on the Bears today.

Deshaun Watson was drafted into a near optimal position for a QB and is performing well. Good for him. I have liked him for years.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is in almost the exact opposite position.

We will see down the line. Watson wouldn't throw these bums open.

Even with the picks, his rating was 106.9. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky didn't complete 50% of his passes. Even if you give him the Miller TD, his rating is probably 70 or 80.
