Rozner does have ONE solid point, Emery was fired and he was .500 through 3 seasons..Pace is going to be 14-34 through 3.

If would help if Pace had drafted a left tackle instead of Kevin White, so we wouldn't have to put up with Chuckie Leno needing a tight end to chip block half the time.

Simple rules for a GM of a bad team in the first round the draft:
- If the QB you are willing to lose your job over is on the board, pick him. Do not trade up. But you can only pick one QB in the first round in your tenure as GM.
- Otherwise, if you don't have an All-Pro left tackle and you didn't pick a left tackle last year, pick the best left tackle available.
- Otherwise, pick the best defensive back available.

Today’s article has a ton of strawmen. It is a joke. Somehow Bears fans put them in the Super Bowl after the Bengals win.

Not a good point at all.

Emery was left with a lot of talent when he took over.

Emery left virtually NO talent for Pace when he took over.

Surely you can see the difference.

What talent has Pace brought in? I don't think the roster is significantly "better" than when he took over. He did a good job of "tearing down" but has he really "rebuilt" ?

Anyone can "blow up" a team. Seachest needs to stop rewarding Pace for Non-Accomplishments.

Pace is in year 3. Lack of playmakers remains a problem.

I don't reward him, Aunt Ginny does.

Through 3 drafts they are eerily similar.

× Both had 20 picks
× Angelo handed Emery a bag of shit
× Emery handed Pace a bag of shit
× Pace will leave the next chump a bag of shit
× Both found one solid starter in secondary( Fuller-Jackson.) Pace found one O lineman { Whitehair ) while Emery got Long and Leno and Mills.

Emery got Alshon- Pace got White . Both have blundered free agency dough.

I don't get how if Mitch works out then Pace is home free. If you pick a QB at #2, the first QB taken, the minimum expectation should be that he's Pro Bowl material. By that logic any idiot could be a GM and pick a QB top 3 and get everything else ignored if he's good. That's a low bar.

Ryan Pace's first plan already failed. It was to keep Cutler and do a quick rebuilt in two years to compete. Hub Arkush, who was frightened to release Cutler thought the same thing and was convinced everything was ok. Of course Cutler continued to suck and they pulled the plug on that plan. In those two years, what did Pace build around the "Cutler Plan" that is still on the team? Jordan Howard and a bunch of crap. So, your rookie QB has no help and a defensive minded head coach to develop him. Pace has made several boneheaded decisions, but just to name a few: Robbie Gould and Alshon Jeffery. How can you let Jeffery go with no idea how to replace him. Yes, he didn't like Chicago and he was injury prone, but you put the franchise tag on him until you can replace him. Instead they put all their hope on Kevin White, who is an unproven draft pick who missed most of his first two years. I think Pace is gone in two years after this plan also collapses.

You cannot miss on first round draft picks. Those picks have to be regular contributors on Sundays. See Bill Belihick.

Angelo failed in the first round. Emery failed in the first round. Pace....he's failed in the first round. Not only has Pace failed in the first round, he's failed in Free agency. Comparing Pace to Angelo and Emery is useless....Angelo and Emery were bad and Pace has not shown to be much better.

I do agree that you also have to factor in the fact that I don't believe Pace has complete autonomy. When he was hired, I would wager there was pressure / interference on what to do with Cutler and who to hire as head coach. That's not an excuse for his bad performance, but it is a factor.

The comment on Free Agents having a choice in not to come to Chicago is also a valid factor, but does not excuse Pace's other failures as GM.

Fox has sucked as a head coach, but clearly the roster is garbage and that's on Pace.
