Apparently, according to Adam Hoge on Twitter, the coaching staff saw him as too much of a risk in this must-win game for the coaching staff.

So that worked out well.

Adam Hoge‏ @AdamHoge

Why is Adam Shaheen barely playing today? Because you have a coaching staff that knows it can’t lose to the #49ers. Putting that ahead of player development (and can’t blame them). But these games should be about the future.

I guess that makes sense. You can't keep all that other great TE talent off the field.

THIS is why they need to fire Fox. Yeah you'll be in a pickle if the Bears delight under an interim coach, but you can't have guys trying to preserve their professional reputations instead of developing and maturing young talent.

Get back to me if Biggs or Mullins says that.

Hoge doesn't have the professional cache to put that statement out there and be believed.

If Fox does something like Trestman did benching Clausen for Cutler we'll be there. I just dont see him doing that though.

Hub just said the Bears have to make a change. He doesn't know what kind of change they have to make, but they have to make a change.

This is the kind of insight that can only come from someone who has spent decades of covering the NFL. Top notch analysis, Hub.

Trestman lost the locker room.

The play on the field and the losses are worse under Fox IMO.

Firing Loggains sates the bloodlust while not disgracing Fox.

I could not care less about John Fox's feelings, respect supposedly owed to him, or his career. This is a performance based business and his Bears teams have performed like absolute dog shit outside of a handful of games.

I don't either, but prospective candidates will. Midseason firings really stick out and unless Fox starts obviously sabotaging the team there is no reason for it. You don't want to look like you'll have to fan/media pressure like a bitch.

Don't you guys get it? It's year 3 of the rebuild! Next year is the year, right Theo?

Why is it ok for the Cubs to suck for three years? I think the Bears are one of the NFL'S younger teams. Same shit as the Cubs.

So we need Fox to bench (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky for Glennon?

I'd say they need to fire Fox to show someone's paying attention and this is unacceptable, but apparently there were only ~8,500 no-shows at the game today and there's only one home game left. I'm guessing it's perfectly acceptable.

Hub also said the Mccaskeys were blameless for the Bears ineptitude on the pregame show yesterday.

Fewest plays run against the 49ers since 1984.

Worst Bears December loss since the 0-10-1 Cardinals beat the Bears 24-17 at Wrigley Field in 1954.
