Read today that Jim Brown came out and criticized the NFL players who decide to take a knee or sit during the National anthem. This from a guy who was one of the first athletes ever to take on issues like Ali's refusal to be drafted into the service during the Vietnam War.

It'll be interesting what the response of the kneelers will be. Brown is a legend and his opinion carries a lot of weight, especially in the black community.

Jim Brown's opinion only carries a lot of weight in Jim Brown's own mind. But don't let that stop you from playing your one note.

What does this have to do with the Bears?

If The Hawk hadn't started this thread, he would probably come in and derail it with "And speaking of Brown, did you see that Obama..."

Everything, obviously...in Hawkeroo's own mind.

Only in your little pea brained head it does. Brown is considered a patriarch by many black players in the NFL who respect him for the positions that he has taken in the civil rights movement, socio-economic issues, law enforcement, etc. YOu just don't like his position in the matter so you insult me like the dope that you are.

Let's see, Bobbie..... THe subject was Kneelers and Jim Brown's position on them. The Bears have players who might choose to disrespect our flag and Anthem. They have owners who have to consider what their policy should be on the matter. So, Bobbie boy, it is relative to the Bears. Perhaps you ought to think more or at least try to think before speaking

No one on the Bears has kneeled.

And you MIGHT have a rational thought one day, not likely though.

No, it's not.

CH making me nostalgic for the days when Eric Zorn would let people comment on his opinion pieces right there at the bottom of the web page...or the trib allowed comments at all.

Image

Few major papers in the US allow comments anymore. The Brit papers use a peer rating system to sort the wheat from the chaff--or the he-man woman-haters club members and storm fronters and infowars-tards and spammers from folks trying to have a somewhat on topic conversation about the content of the relevant article.

Sean Young not looking or doing too well,
