Yup.

Don’t know how the respective O-lines compare, but keeping in mind that Lamar didn’t start until the second half of the season, and has better coaching…all I’m saying is judging Fields after 4 games is ridiculous.

yes sir.

Too early to judge him, but he's got the Bears venerable history of destroying young quarterbacks working against him.

Too early to judge any of the rookie QB's, but I've never heard the shows on 670 circle around and protect any player the way they have Fields.

Looks like the Bears ruined him and it only took a month. That's a shame.

Jackson had 1 OL who was pro bowl in his first year (Yanda). Another three were pro bowl either the year before or after.

Fields has what remains of Jason Peters.

Jason Biden has been serviceable at left tackle, which is good since there is no way the nerd with short arms is playing this year.

Not just The Score. ESPN 1000 and the national media are doing the same. They didn't do that for (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky solely because Mahomes and the Young Cosby had success.

I thought reading defenses would be a problem, but according to the coaches he's far ahead of where rookies normally are. I honestly thought that he would be better running, but he almost always looks indecisive. Considering how Nagy neutered (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky, I have to suspect that he's responsible.

I think a lot of the bad has been due to slow decision making (and a very bad pass blocking line). That is remedied with playing time.

I feel pretty good with what I have seen. I'm certainly not disheartened.

If they cared about Fields, they would have fired Nagy yesterday. Every day Fields spends with Nagy, the worse he will be in his career. It's like being exposed to radation.

I would agree, people giving up on him are crazy. Kind of like saying Love can't play, how the hell would anyone know how good they are going to be?

Sounds like we're going to have a Marvel superhero at quarterback for the next 20 years.

Two years from now, Nagy could still be here, with the offense sucking ass at 13 points a game and you'll still advocate for him cause "he's a nice guy" and "keeps the locker room together".

I didn't want Lovie to get fired either. It only took 10 years for everyone to see it my way. I like playing the long game, but not usually that long.

I'm a huge lovie guy but I think it's fair to say he dropped the ball countless times on offense. Revolving door at the coordinator position. Seemed he never invested much time into thinking about offense and offensive trends. As a HC that's his responsibility. Not to just outsource offense to a coordinator.

So wrong.. launching lovie was great, not hiring Ariens and hiring that dipshit Trestman is where they fucked up.

You're probably right. There was a lot of Lovie fatigue.

Lovie was a very good coach. I think his tenure just reached its natural end. He didn't even seem particularly invested at the end and he followed that up with undedicated coaching at U of I.

He constructed a great defensive system but just like guys like Buddy, it became outdated and he wasn't good at adapting.

Here's the thing, Lovie was a defensive minded head coach, and (for the most part) he fielded teams with a dominant defense. That's what you expect when you hire a coach from that specialty. Nagy's offense has been dogshit every year he's been here.

When you're right you're right.

Moving on from Lovie wasn't the mistake. The coach brought in to replace him, and the GM brought in to replace Angelo set this franchise back a decade.

The odds are you don't hire the right coach though, it's not that simple. Arians could have come here sucked too.

I still don't like Fields' mechanics, but at least he gets back in his drop quick with the seven step.

Now he has to get on the same page with his receivers and not throw to guys who stop their routes.

agreed, the thing I like least is that he holds the ball low, stays low in his windup and doesn't get his hand above his shoulder when he throws. He's not quite sidearm, but he's close.

hahah I was listening to it on the radio. QB rating 44.3, 3 INT's and 2 fumbles lost. Someone tell this kid to hold onto the ball when he's getting sacked.

I go back to my default position that Fields isn't very good. He lacks basic football instincts about when to throw the ball and cannot avoid the rush well. That said, he didn't get help from the offensive line. The coaching was unprepared for the Bucs safety blitzes off left tackle. Of course, the Bucs were going to test Fields and blitz him.

I don't remember Fields attempting to throw downfield other than the interception throw. When your whole repertoire and offensive scheme is five yard dink passes, there's no hope against a team like Tampa Bay.

I'd cut Fields at this point, in that he can't throw for more than 100 yards in a game. There's no point in investing in him. Fire Pace and Nagy and start over. That's better than the alternative of staying with these idiots.
