Why wouldn't they go all in on a retractable roof? I get that it adds cost but would allow for natural grass, better views (weather permitting) and enhanced summer concerts. Also - as dumb as I find the idea of "Bear weather" - there is something cool about playing outside during winter.

Because retractable roofs are worthless. I believe a study was done they were open only 10-20% of the time

Supposedly almost no teams actually use the retractable roof enough to make it worth it.

I get it and don't necessarily disagree. But outside of 1963, a few years in the 80s, and a few Lovie years the Bears have been dogshit for the past 50 years and Selling tickets doesn't seem to be a problem. I'm not sure a roof is going bother sales that much.
