Its not just the zero catches. He was legit just walking around most plays. It's like he was thinking about something else.

I'm ready to criticize Claypool like everyone else. I'm not giving him the Fields treatment where I ignore all empirical evidence and just blindly defend him. That said, you can't really judge a WR until he's got a QB capable of feeding him the ball. Get a Derrick Carr equivalent in here and then I'll be happy to judge Claypool.

If they were going to start holding Claypool accountable it would've been this off-season. This is a clear case where the GM leans on the head coach to keep a guy getting snaps because he doesn't want to wave the white flag on the trade yet. Claypool is a sacred goat, somebody else will have their neck on the chopping block. Probably somebody from the Pace era (Eddie Jackson isn't a bad guess).

They will improve next week and beat tampa bay. They will be 4-4 in the first half of the season.
