There isn’t much to take from this game regarding Bagent other than that he didn’t lose the game for them doing something stupid. Can’t win too many NFL games the way they did today. They will have to take the training wheels off at some point and then we will have a better idea of what this kid can do.

Got a good look at how the outside zone run game can work with a QB that recognizes what the D is giving on each play.

There were several plays where Bagent checked into the best run play, and was able to work through his reads and then quickly dump the ball off accurately to avoid a sack, or move the chains. It does seem Getsy has built in a safety valve on every play, but you never saw Fields hit the back late after leaking the pocket, he either tucks and runs or looks deep. There were successful plays you never see with Fields at QB, for some reason Fields just cannot hit a back accurately in the flat, he is either late, misses the throw, or makes the back stop and adjust which cuts down on any chance of run after catch yards.

This offense obviously lacks talent at C, LT, TE, and WR, you had average NFL backs putting up good numbers, can only imagine if they had a back with a little bit of speed. Does seem you may have stumbled upon a quality backup QB.
