priority need

they should have a draft for team doctors and groundskeepers and IG massage thots. See where Doctor Gazzaniga gets picked after puncturing Tyrod Taylor's lung. Heather Nabozny 1/1 in the groundskeeper draft. IG girls draft would be crazy b/c you'd have to redraft them monthly to bring in new talent.

But the combine for the IG hoez draft? Hell yeah.

I was wrong. Poles did right by Fields. He gave him an opportunity to compete for a job or resurrect his career with the best run organization in football.

Yeah, Tannehill appeared cooked 2023. He was already benefiting from Smith's Offense with AJ Brown and Derrick Henry and then when Brown and Smith left he fell off a cliff. Seemed as much age as losing his OC and WR1. And Tannehill basically Karon Rodgers'd Levis in terms of mentoring. Something about not his job to coach up his replacement. Maybe he's changed his tune on that now that he's looking for a roster spot.

Fun to see what Arthur Smith cooks up with Wilson/Fields in Pittsburgh.

Available free agents, i think they are roughly in order of perceived value. tho I think roughly Bridgewater through Wentz (with exceptions) > Tannehill at his age and stage of career.

If doing right by fields was a priority then whoever mandated that priority should be fired.

I'll blame Kevin Warren. It's probably good business because his agent has a lot of quality players. We're only bothered by the return because the media told us he was more valuable than Mac Jones and could bring us a 1st round pick+.

The Bears have the best quarterback in the division and that won't likely change for at least a decade.

I'd prefer a semi successful veteran in the room for mentoring purposes. There's no one to look up to in the room right now.

Tannehill just tried to sabotage one of my whites last year. What do you think he'll do to a light skinned brother? The Bears have add several former quarterbacks as coaches and veteran receivers like Allen and Moore can be useful. Plus, Brett Rypien was brought on to babysit.

It still amazes me that Fields is treated like a war hero in all of this.

You played poorly and wasted 3 years of all our time. The league knows you aren't good which is why they had to trade you for a 6th round pick which is worse than what Trey Lance went for.

What a stupid move to trade Fields. All because they didn't want to pay him.

You cannot deny that he did improve last season as the season went along.

He had a chance to deny the Packers a playoff spot and show the fans that the Bears are ready to take the north and never give it back.

The Bears scored nine points.

They would have received a compensatory pick (better than a 6th) if they held on to him and he signed elsewhere as a free agent after next year.

Because it would be explained all they could've got was a 6th round and his destination was as a backup. That more than likely "they can do right by him" by waiting for a better opportunity for both themselves and him.

Why would the Rewriting History guy give a shit? he's busy imagining what his bust is going to look like in Canton.

Now let’s see if they actually like Caleb or move with Washington or the Pats because they have their eye on someone different and want to add more draft capital.

Getting a conditional 4th in next years draft is hilariously bad negotiation on Ryan’s end, but I am not completely shocked as I have been constantly bringing shit like this up with him. He’s Ryan Pace levels bad at this part of the GM game.

Still, glad this part of it is over with now the question being which rookie QB they actually grab. It’s most likely Caleb if I had to bet on it.. but I still think there’s a chance they could move a little in favor of someone else.

Which GM would you have convinced that Justin Fields was a better option than Sam Howell or Kenny Pickett?

Poles waited too long to make a deal. We may never know but I’m willing to bet there were much better proposals presented to the Bears during the combine that they balked on. We know several teams absolutely approached the Bears during this period.

Over the next year we may get leaked info on some of those offers when it’s irrelevant -just like finding out roughly what Houston tried offering the Bears for the 1st overall last year.

I’d love to know what the Eagles offer was just before the actual trade.

We can't have it both ways. Last year, MANY were saying that Poles moved too soon. That he traded down too far, etc. Now, MANY say he waited too long because they know the end result.

We learned last year that he tried to pull off the double trade, but Houston kept fucking around, so he moved on. That worked out. We just learned Poles has been trying to trade Fields since the Senior Bowl. MANY thought Fields didn't reach the market until the Combine.

I didn't think much of Fields, but I was higher on him than the rest of the league. I would have loved a Kiper or good dolphin return, but hitting on the quarterback is far more important. Poles will own Chicago if he gets this right.

I don’t think having to pay him made a difference either, they knew needed a better quarterback.

I'd cut Fields at this point, in that he can't throw for more than 100 yards in a game. There's no point in investing in him. Fire Pace and Nagy and start over. That's better than the alternative of staying with these idiots.

Several teams have explored trading up into the top three of the 2024 NFL Draft, which features three elite quarterback prospects in USC's Caleb Williams, LSU's  Jayden Daniels and UNC's Drake Maye. According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, one of those teams was the Atlanta Falcons, who looked into trading up for a QB at the NFL Combine in late February before they signed Kirk Cousins in free agency.

But as Breer reported, neither the Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders or New England Patriots were interested in giving up the No. 1, No. 2 or No. 3 picks, respectively. And it appears that's still the case, especially for the Patriots at No. 3.

"It sounds like right now, the teams in the top three aren't willing to move," Breer noted on NBC Sports Boston's Sports Sunday. "Atlanta, during the combine, they investigated moving up as part of their process in looking at cheaper options than Kirk Cousins or Baker Mayfield, and they basically hit a brick wall when they tried to get into the top three."

The Bears seem even more locked in on Williams after trading Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers over the weekend. And as Breer reports, Washington and New England currently seem set on taking QBs at No. 2 and No. 3, writing Monday for Sports Illustrated that "zero of the three (the Bears, Commanders and Patriots) have shown an appetite for trading one of those picks."

"The Commanders and the Patriots were unwilling to move," Breer added on Sports Sunday. "Now, that can change over time as teams go through their evaluation process, but at least at the combine, the Patriots were a 'no' when teams were looking to move up."
