His OC and supporting cast do not position him for success. But how exciting he is.

Agreed. L. Jackson is the most over rated QB in the NFL and Fields is the poor mans version of Jackson.

I hate to say it but.. I had similar thoughts while watching that game. The Ravens cannot throw their way out of trouble against teams like KC

Lamar and Fields aren't the same. For one Fields never sustained the passing success Lamar had over a 16 game period like Lamar did this year. The ravens got away from their no 1 ranked rushing attack and it cost them. The flowers experience also took points off the board for Lamar/Baltimore. Even with that noted, Lamar choked today, no doubt. But it doesn't all of a sudden make him Justin Fields. Lamar has Justin Fields type games every so often. Justin Fields has elite Lamar type games three times a year. Big difference.

Full disclosure I was cheering for the Chiefs but.. there were some really odd non PI calls in that game too. The one in the end zone stands out. I don’t know how that’s not PI

He's not a pocket passer... he'll never win a SB

Not Over rated.. just a RB.. like Fields, very dangerous if they rush for 100 yards.

That's fine, makes him a choke artist then. It doesn't lower him to the Justin Fields level. Like Dak Prescott sucked against GB after an MVP-type season, but saying he's no better than Zach Wilson afterward isn't coherent criticism.

The game was the Flowers fumble. Plus the NFL needs Taylor Swift at the SB. Ravens were never winning this game

Several dumb and undisciplined penalties, you scorec10 points and you're going to lose 99% of your games.

Lamar Jackson was an MVP in his second year. We would be trading the first pick if that were true of Fields.

the best rushing team in the league decided to only call 8 designed running plays in a game where they trailed by only 10 points the whole game

Lamar Jackson is bad QB against the blitz.
The data is there....Chiefs knew it and blitzed.

And to seal the game, mahomes see blitz and dumps it effortlessly to Kelce over the middle. Why is that so hard for most qb's to do?

I'd trade the #1 right now for him. Think Baltimore would take it?

But Jackson admitted before Sunday that he was afraid of Mahomes and the Chiefs, and it certainly showed as he wasn't playing with the confidence he's flexed all season. "I don't like competing against him at all," Jackson said to reporters before the AFC Championship game when being asked about Mahomes.

Does that quote bother anyone?

Seems the running QB's reach a place where they get hit enough that they are unwilling to risk taking a hit to break a long run, but the problem is that the only thing that makes them special is breaking long runs, so they begin to self-limit themselves.

Mahomes 40 time is a second slower than both Fields and Jackson, but he steps up and scrambles to open up passing lanes and is light years ahead of them in reading defenses.

You rarely see Fields complete passes over the middle because you have to be able to read the DB's leverage and throw guys open, Jackson had the same issue, he was doing a great Justin Fields impersonation, running in circles in the pocket, holding the ball as he waited for a guy to break wide open instead of throwing an accurate ball to a spot where the guy would be NFL open, he even did the miss the wide open check down guy erratic throw that Fields is good for two to three times per game.

If you're going to mention Mahomes dumping off passes to his All Pro TE, it's only fair to mention that Jackson's All-Pro TE shouldn't have been even playing in that game.

The Chiefs put Jackson in a box and kept him in it for pretty much the entire game. The only time he escaped was on their touchdown play. It was an awesome execution of a defensive gameplan.

Yep, very familiar with this philosophy.

It looked very familiar but I can’t quite place it.
