So you don't know what you're talking about when it comes to football? Next you'll be telling me water is wet.

Any more juicy football tidbits you want to drop here on the forum? Got any other breaking news for us? Or any more of your particularly incisive analysis?

I'll leave the boring statistical breakdowns and overwhelming need to show off my football penis to you.

They overpaid big time. $91.5M for 6 years with a $20M salary in year 1. That means after this season Peppers will have made about $55M in 3 years.

Uncapped year followed by a probable lockout. Who knows what this all means? Nobody that analyzes sports for a job was able to define today what could happen cap wise in the future. We can't un-sign Peppers, who was the number one guy available. I'm cynical as F**K, but lets see where this all goes.

I don't have the statistical analysis or bar graphs to back up this statement but I'll say it anyways. I have a feeling Peppers will disappear from a lot of games and will be satisfied with getting paid. Bears fans will end up disappointed.

Very good chance of that being an accurate statement. I just hope it isn't.

And in 2008 the Halas 'Trustees' made what $41MM+ for their share of the Lucky Sperm Lotto winnings?

Only if I were a Bears season ticket holder would I really care. This isn't money spent to necessarily win...just placate the masses in a bizarre fashion. (IMO)

They could have signed Rolle for 3 years for the same money they are paying Peppers next year. Kampman will have more sacks than Peppers next year and Rolle will have more picks than any Bears player.

I thought you liked the move? You really confuse me sometimes.

Well call me a glass half full guy, but he could make every player on the D better. Will he take some plays off? Probably. He should be better than Phillip Daniels.

Rolle - Sells no tix. Was a part of the D that gave up the ass big time when actually challenged last year. The Giants overpaid, and IMO behind the '10 version of the '09 Bear pass rush, he'd have turned into the Bears version of Larry Brown(Raiders edition) anyway.

Kampman - They now test for his (alleged) special brand of little helper now...and he's already started to break down.

Peppers - I don't believe in him either, but it won't be long before the Peppers ads & jerseys hit the airwaves; and, He's already given the McClaskeys the best p.r. they've had since the SB.

I do think it makes them better but I've been on record for a while saying I wouldn't target Peppers. I wanted Kampman and Rolle. Rolle was my #1 target. I thought Taylor would be a good fit but I really didn't care if they got him. They paid a guy that has 5 more sacks than Ogunleye over the past 3 years $91.5M. That doesn't make cents at all. They still have a huge hole at safety.

Just once I would like to see the reaction of signing of one of the biggest free agents available (in any sport) to be "Wow did they underpay for him!"

HOVA, I'm with you that holes are obvious, and still exist. However, this D is based on pressure. If Peppers draws the double teams I believe he will.........

But, that is a whole bunch of guaranteed money!
