I actually do feel a little better about the Bears.

The Dolphins took a beating yesterday. There are many key players on the injury report.

They are banged up for sure but as I said in another thread, 3 days off and then a road game is a tall task no matter who you are playing.

I like their chances against Tyler Thigpen with Jake Long out.

I agree, its a very winnable game and shapes up pretty well for the Bears.

However, Jay at night and in Primetime seems to = a lot of INTs.

Season pretty much boils down to two games now. Win next week, you probably get to 10 or 11 wins, and you have the tiebreaker over the Eagles for the wildcard spot. Win the final week, and you can finish tied with Green Bay (who still has a number of tough games left) and win the division.

Not if the Eaglos lose to the Giants this week.

I think the 3 division games are the big ones. Lions are tough at home, but they don't know how to close people out. That's another conservative game plan game where you hang with them and win in the 4th. Hopefully the Vikings have rolled over by the time the Bears come to town. Then finally you have the Pack the last game of the year. It sure seems like the division is going to come down to that game.

Wake had himself a nice game last night, or Webb had a bad one. What made me feel good after last night is the offense was able to control the ball and keep the defense off the field. If they can continue to sustain drives, the defense will have the opportunity to be a dominant force each series and each game through the end of the season. In recent years, ball control has been a big issue and IMO killed the defense late in games.

Bears want the Giants to win this division and win the NFC East. Don't want to have to compete over a wildcard spot, since the Giants would have the tiebreaker.

Best case scenario is Eagles win this week, then Bears beat them. If that happens, barring a complete meltdown, the Bears will make the playoffs.

I think if the Bears can force Vick to move right like the Giants did, their D has enough speed to at least keep him contained. I hope its cold and its a sloppy field (like usual) on Sunday. I actually feel better about this game than I did against Miami. I could see @Detroit and/or @Minny being a trap game though.

Vick absolutely hates the cold. Did you see him yesterday? He ran back to the sidelines for a jacket and hat each time the offense came off the field and it wasn't even that cold. I still remember him disappearing when the Falcons came to town for a December single digit temperature game.

I hope it is bitterly cold on Sunday.

I remember that Falcons game, he wanted no part of it. The high on Sunday is only supposed to be like 40 or something, but it will surely be colder in the 2nd half as it gets dark out. BEAR WEATHER MY FRIENDS!

vick and the falcons beat the packers in a divisional playoff game at lambeau during a blizzard.

That is even more ancient history than the game I referenced.

This game just doesn't stack up very well for the beloved. They play badly against speed receivers and the Eagles have them all over the field. They have an attacking defense against a line that doesn't seem to know assignments half the time.

The only thing I am holding out hope for is a letdown game after playing a big divisional opponent and the Thanksgiving holiday.

I remember a Packer playoff game when he came up here and stuck it to us. Broke a long playoff win streak at home. :(

I will say that the Bears D has a 12th man working in their favor to help combat
some of the speedy receivers. The actual turf at Soldier Field is awful. Guys were
falling and slipping all over the place the last time they played there. Our guys can
still get beat deep, but if they are trying to make tight cuts, we might actually get
a lucky bounce or a pick. I am not pinning all my hopes to this fact, but it certainly
needs consideration.

So Urlacher will successfully spy him all day and the Bears will win.

Bears win this one. Vick comes back to earth and ends all the dicksucking from the national media over the last few weeks. Bears have fared well against Vick and I think the team is playing much better in all phases.

Would like to see Vick have a shitty game with 3 - 4 picks and a lot of dirt on his uni.

I too fear for the Beloved this weekend, and the problem is, if they do in fact lose, the path to the playoffs is very, very hard to see.

In my mind, there is no way they can win in Lambeau week 17 if that game has any meaning to the Packers. So if we rule out winning the North, that means they have to nab one of two wildcard spots (I really am an NFL genius), and given that New Orleans/Atlanta will likely get one, that means the Bears have to beat out Tampa Bay (who is bad, but has an easy schedule the rest of the way), and the East-division-loser between NY and Philadelphia, against both of which the Bears would lose the tie-breaker.

Sunday is a must-win. I think I'm really going to need Paula Ferris to ease my pain Sunday night. At least she's good at that.

i think the bears defense can shut vick down, and i'm not sure about the eagles defense. i think they're pretty good but i think samuel is out so that's another break for the bears.

bears can keep this close, and i think they can pull it out.

They have to win this Lions game or the rest of the success is greatly diminished. The Lions are tough at home. They seem to get big leads early and fade in the second half. The Bears have to be prepared for this.

This is as much of a classic letdown situation for the Bears as this week was for the Eagles. Lions have a long week to prepare for a home game. Bears are on a win streak with a big home victory against a tough opponent.

I was just hit with another revelation. The Patriots will be playing at Chicago on a short week after a huge divisional game. Bears are going to win that one as well. 10-3.
