Where would you rank the Bears in the NFC with potential playoff teams? Personally, I have them around 4th. I still would take the Packers, Falcons, Saints, and the winner in the East. I would take them ahead of the winner in the West and Bucs, if they got in.

If the Igles, I agree. If the Gints, I'll have to think about it awhile. Very inconsistent...

Probably 3rd behind Atlanta and Green Bay. Same level as Saints and Giants.

I know. I just have more confidence in Green Bay than the Bears. Unfounded confidence, but confidence nonetheless.

Falcons
Saints
Packers
Giants
Bears
Eagles

However, with them peaking at all 3 phases of the game right now I wouldn't be surprised if they were able to beat every one of these teams.

the bears got rolled by the giants who got rolled by the eagles, and they beat the eagles today. rankings are garbage.

Home field is a pretty big factor right now for the Bears and Falcons.

Packers are currently seeded 8th and would not make the playoffs if they started today. They are good, but no way are they ahead of the Bears.

Packers have beaten the Lions, Cowboys, Vikings (twice) Bills, Eagles and Jets.

Bears have beaten Lions, Cowboys, Vikings, Bills, Eagles, Panthers, Dolphins and Packers.

The Bears have beaten 3 winning teams, Packers two.

Falcons are very strong right now, but after watching alot of that game I think the Bears would have a better shot at shutting down Turner than the Packers did. I think being inside the dome would play to the Bears strength as they have a very fast team. Alot faster than the Falcons do.

I watched that Packers-Falcons game today, and let me say I came away unimpressed. Matt Ryan is of course quite good, but I saw nothing in that game that says the Bears can't beat either one of them. Maybe I'm too drunk on the Kool-Aid after this win over the Eagles, but, the Bears Defense can hold either of those teams in check.

While watching Aaron Rodgers, I made up a new game. It's called simply, the "Jay Cutler game". What you do is, you do your own play-by-play call, pretending you are a national pundit and are describing Cutler instead of Rodgers. You'll discover amazing duplicity, and you will quickly learn how group-think affects national opinion.

In other words, when Rodgers fumbles in the end-zone, and the announcers apologize for him, you say "oh GOD, ANOTHER Cutler red zone TURNOVER!!!"

When Rodgers throws an incompletion into double coverage, and the announcers mention his bravado, you say "OH, there goes Cutler AGAIN, making a POOR decision and THROWING into COVERAGE!"

When a DB drops an errant Rodgers throw (happened a number of times today), and the announcers gloss over it, you say "WOW, that's FIVE picks Cutler would have thrown, but lucky they were all dropped!"

After this exercise, you too will learn you can be an NFL pundit, with built-in biases and prejudices just like them.

Frank has the "stupid question guy" persona locked up on this board. Find your own schtick.

Bears are, as they always have been, #1. However the Good Lord is working on a number better than a #1 ranking just so his beloved Bears can be appropriately discussed.

Nope, you're wrong - didn't you hear the Fox broadcast team say that this is DEFINITELY the preview of the NFC championship game, oh, about 4800 times?? What's wrong with you?!
