They have looked great at times.

They have looked awful at times.

The NFC has consistently looked awful

This still has the feel of a 2005 type one and one (Bye and done)

What say the CSFMB?

Right now, they are the second best team in the NFC...Right now.

How has the NFC been anything but awful?

Who is good?

Every "good" team has had a major letdown game.

Atlanta has been consistent.

I'd consider the Giants, Eagles, Packers, Bears, Saints and Falcons as good teams in the NFC.

None of those teams are scary though.

They've all had terrible games.

Point being the Bears could beat any of those teams.

My fear is they'll end up beating the 4th team you mentioned.

Well, who scares you in the AFC?

Pats? We can score on their defense
Jets? Not going to be able to score on us
Indy? Somethings wrong there...
Chargers? Maybe...usually choke during playoffs

There are a bunch of good teams with flaws that can beat just about anyone. One and done is just as likely as Super Bowl Champs at this point. There isn't a team we'd face that would genuinely worry me.

Steelers had to go to OT to beat the Bills yesterday, and if it wasn't for God causing a dropped TD pass they would have lost.

They are both very solid teams, but they are also beatable.

Just not by the Bears. Lets not forget that dominating performance the Bears had against the then winless Bills too.

Every team is capable of beating or losing to anyone.

I still think Steelers and Patriots are the cream of the class in the NFL.

Maybe it's a product of all the really bad teams, but as bad as the NFC is, there could be a team/teams with decent records not making the playoffs.

Right now, there are seven 7-4 or better teams playing for 5 spots. Take out the other division winners, and in the Bears case, it's 5 teams for 3 spots. The Bears should hope for NY to win the east because of the tie-breaker situations.

I'm still scared-off of big predictions for the Bear because of how inept they looked against the Giants. I'm hoping that they don't just barely get out with a win against the Lions like the first meeting this season, and I'm wondering how the next few weeks will go for 'em. That rematch with the Pack is pretty likely to be a huge game, so I'd worry about a letdown in the first round of the playoffs if I'm a fan of either team in the event that it's a game to get in. If the beloved take care of business from here on out, I guess I'll sort-of, kind-of say that I like their chances in the postseason 8)

I thought this was going to be a lousy 5 or 6 win team. I am enjoying the ride and hoping for the best. There are no powerhouse teams this year so anything can happen. Hell, I have even started to talk myself into the Lovie contract extension that is coming up soon.

I hope this team loses their last 5 games. Lovie needs to be out.

Just to fire Lovie, anything else is an added bonus.

It's hard to say...I think win #9 happens Sunday in Detroit on my birthday, and looking at the schedule, a 2-2 split in the last 4 games punches a playoff ticket for these Bears. 10 wins likely gets the Bears in the playoffs, and quite possibly a home playoff game if they continue to play their cards right.

@ Detroit (2-9)
vs New England (9-2)
@ Minnesota (4-7)
vs NY Jets (9-2)
@ Green Bay (7-4)

Detroit and Minnesota should be done. While the Patriot, Jet, and Packer could all be possibly favored, I don't think any of those games are unwinnable. 11-5 or even 12-4 is definitely possible.

As ESPN's Lee Corso might say on "College GameDay", "Not so fast, my friend." The Vikings might have motivation when they host the Bears on "MNF" December 20th at the Metrodome. They have an interim head coach in Les Frazier and nothing would satisfy that team than beating the Bears on their home field. I think Frazier would like to make the most of his audition to possibly become that team's full time head coach next year.

As obvious as it may sound, the Pats-Bears game will be a story of two defenses. Our D is completely hit-and-miss while the Bear has been pretty consistent this season on that side of the ball.

It will be a very, very interesting game.
