Woo hoo!!!! We did it!!!!

Lovie should only play his main starters for one half at most no matter what he's saying now.

It's a long shot to get the one seed, cuz the Falcons aren't losing to Carolina at home. But we'll know if we have a chance before our game cuz the Falcons play at noon.

This probably makes Green Bay happier since the Bears are going to be taking it a little easier. I hope Lovie doesn't do something stupid and get someone important hurt.

Falcons and Saints both play at noon, so the Bears will know either way. I wouldn't play the starters at all if the Bears know it's #2.

Bears!!!!!!!!!!! Never give Lovie a extra week to prepare a team, lol. This give you a chance to fire him when they lose the playoff game coming off a bye week.

The bye week is by far the most important thing, but playing Atlanta at home would be a huge advantage.

This is so awesome cuz it was so unexpected. There was an anticipation for Sunday to see if we'd get it and now that anxiety is gone.

It was like a Bears playoff win today with Bears players in purple and yellow. Cuz this Viking win advanced the Bears to the 2nd round. That bye is huge!!!! Huge I say!!!! You get the 2nd round at home instead of being on the road with a chance for the NFC title game at home if the Falcons lose in the 2nd round.

Not to be a party pooper BUT...Lovies Bears had the bye and Home field against Carolina (with JPEP) a few years back.

Yeah. They also had it the next year when they went to the Super Bowl. You'd rather have it than not have it. What the hell are you saying?

That clearly means the Bears shouldn't want the bye week.

It means they have to play one less game. Winning three is easier than winning four.

If the didn't get it, more than likely, they'd have to win 2 out of 3 on the road to get to the Super Bowl. Now they have to win 1 out of 2 on the road and have a decent chance of getting 2 home playoff games to get to the Super Bowl.

It's very big. Of course they could still lose. Everybody knows that. It just makes it a hell of a lot easier.

This also means that the Bears won't meet the Packers until the NFC Championship game at the earliest...or latest, assuming Bears lose sunday.

Lets say Pack beats the Eagles, then they go play Atlanta in the second round. Maybe the Pack knock off the Falcons in the second round (Packers probably should have beaten Atlanta in Atlanta earlier in the season.)

So it looks like either the Saints or Eagles for the first Bear playoff game.

Any NFC team should prefer the Eagles at this point to the Saints in the playoffs. After watching the Saints frustrate the Falcons last night, Sean Payton might be the best single/must-win game head coach in the NFL right now.

so with the likelihood that we're going to have the 2 seed, we're going to end up with the eagles/giants/packers in round 2?

This. Maybe a series or 2, but nothing after the 1st quarter.

I just hope Lovie doesn't call a timeout if the opponent has the ball with less than 10 seconds left in the 4th quarter.

I was of the opinion to not play the starters much, until Hub said the same thing.

Now I think they should play all game.

I'd be fine playing the Saints in Chicago in January.

Agreed. No 1000 yards for Forte.

Forte only needs like 26 yards to get 1000. Knox needs like 40 yards for 1000. They can get that for both of them in the first half. Like I said, I think they will and should play the main guys for the 1st half only. Or maybe the first drive in the 2nd quarter for defensive and offensive key players.

they didn't start beating the blitz until the 4th quarter. atlanta was all over brees most of the night.

i think if the saints have a healthy chris ivory, they can be very dangerous in the playoffs. pierre thomas was coming on strong at the end of the falcons game, but i think it was because the falcons changed their scheme.
