What is your meatball moment this week. Just walked out of a Lake Bluff service center and received the obligatory "have a nice weekend" statement from the checkout people.

My response..."have a nice weekend and GO BEARS"

I went through a full game breakdown, and discussed the ramifications to fans from Chicago and Green Bay in regards to this game. I did this for about six minutes. I did this to an Administrative Assistant from California. She simply had acknowledged there was a game this weekend. My bad.

Put this up on the digital marquee out in front of our store. It scrolls through the 4 frames:

That's awesome Bosco.

I signed up on a Green Bay packers message board and just said something like "The Bears are gonna win!"...I will do more of this over the weekend.

Wore my sleeveless Ditka sweater all week, even on wisconsin visits.

Signed all emails to our Wisconsin people with Go Bears at the bottom.

Being a Giants fan up here in cheeseland, I have had a uniquely enjoyable experience this week.

Every day I listened to the Packer show from 10-11am, then the D-list from 11-1 on 540 in Milwaukee. Then, I would switch over to the transition and listening to B&B from 1-4.

It was full meatball, but I do believe it was not quite as meatbally in Milawukee. I think they screen their calls more diligently. Unfortunate, from my point of view.

I wish both of you fan bases well, and as a reminder that the wotld will go on, I will relate a story of my own heartbreak.

May 11, 1972, Madison Square Garden. Bruins up 3 games to 2 against my beloved Blueshirts. My uncle had season tickets, but he never went so my father and I were in the usual seats in the corner, 3 rows up on the end where the Bruins came and went from their locker room. Gerry Cheevers pitched a 3-0 shutout and not only did the Bruins get the Cup, but they skated right by us and then when they left the ice they seemed to shove the Cup into my face. The last Bruin to leave the ice was Derek Sanderson. As he was going by I gave him a digital dedication. It was not until we got home that my mother informed me that my sign of contempt was shown on Channel 4 in New York. The train ride home felt like a funeral dirge. No one was talking. I have nevver experienced the Metro north train that quiet. We hated the Bruins and they hated us.

But, you know what happened the next day? The sun came up, I went to school on a Friday and had to deal with the unwashed Bruins fans at school. That is the one advantage that both fan bases will have tomorrow, win or liose, you will commiserate with like fans. Where I grew up we had fans of all the different New York teams as well as the Boston teams.

Again, I wish you all good luck, and whoever wins, please beat the AFC so we do not have to listen to how they are superior to the NFC.

I'm staying up tonight so I have as little time as possible tomorrow before the game. I'll probably still be up at 6 AM.
