That kinda sucks that he is being held back from interviewing for what would be substantial promotion. I realize he is under contract, but its not like he is entertaining a lateral move. So basically he is too valuable to leave and be someone else's OC, but not valuable enough to be your own? I completely get this line of rationale with players, but if a coach gets a chance at a promotion and you aren't going to promote him yourself then let him go try and further his career. If he doesn't get some kind of new title next season along with a substantial raise then I would expect him to be quite pissed.

Maybe Martz is not in the future plans beyond next season.

Smart decision. He is probably their best teacher. He deserves a raise based on what he did with the offensive line.

I thought the rule was if a coach was getting a lateral move then a team can block it,if getting a promotion they could not. That is why you would see a lot of D-Line coaches, etc. with Asst. HC titles to their name.

No different than Green Bay denying the Bears the opportunity to interview Clements.

Good move. Give him a raise and an extension.

Assuming they bring in at least a couple of new guys through free agency and/or
the draft Tice is the guy I want working with them. Good move by the Bears.

Start him at quarterback. He's probably super tough.
