Not finding a viable backup QB in the off season.

Defense has no big play capability.

Offense has no big play spark either.

Top Draft pick that got injured. (These things happen but it still sucks)

Bringing in that bad man from San Fran.

The fact that it seems like he needs to clear everything with Sweaty Teddy and the McCaskeys first is bothersome. Maybe it's not true but it has seemed that way.

What do you guys think?

I think it's agreed that the entire management and coaching staff is beyond reproach. Stop questioning it. I know Fox has been fired twice but he's a great coach. Pace was highly regarded based on the Saints trying to hide his prowess. Fangio was passed over by his own team but still awesome. Gase was smart enough to let Manning run the offense in Denver. Stay on message.

So being fired and being a great coach are mutually exclusive? As is being passed over for an internal HC opportunity?

I believe Zippy was making fun of goofs like Scorehead. There's probably a little hyperbole mixed in there.

I am not about to rip Fox. Lombardi couldn't win with this group. I was disappointed in today's game plan. If you can't trust your QB to throw downfield than he shouldn't be on your team...PERIOD...EXCLAMATION POINT

Yeah I detected the sarcasm but thought he genuinely believed someone like Fox couldn't be or isn't currently a good or great coach simply because he was dismissed from two other jobs. I don't think Pace was highly regarded when he was hired on the other hand.

Wait...I thought you wouldn't rip Fox. Who kept the QB that can't be trusted to throw downfield on the team?

Yes, sarcasm. My point is that it has been universally accepted that this is a great coaching staff. The media recites it as fact. I say we'll see.

Belichick couldn't win with this horseshit roster. Was I the only one who was happy that Tresty & Tucker were replaced by Fox, Fangio & Pace? This coaching staff has a track record of success & they will need time to rebuild this shitshow. No reasonable fan thought that this years Bears team was a contender.

The Saints look pretty stocked from Pace's years as Director of Player Personnel. Only a matter of time before Bears are back.

The most concerning thing here is that Pace did not seem to realize, or didn't have the power to do what was needed, that this team sucked. That includes hiring a coach who is clearly not a coach you want when you are rebuilding, a quarterback who only extends your period of mediocrity, and then a draft of a WR in the first round which is something rebuilding teams should pretty much avoid all the time.

But, now that we are simply seeing the same pattern that we saw with the previous two regimes, which is an attempt to chase the Super Bowl that Lovie almost won for yet another year.

Didn't Pace get the job because the favorite for the GM position told everyone that a major rebuild was needed and pretty much everything had to change?

Hmm...so TRYING to win isnt always the smartest move, because it just sets you back farther each time. AGREE

You guys seem to be going to as much of an extreme as jimmy.

A one year cleansing of contracts is sometimes the best route.

Pace got hired because Ernie Accorsi told George McCaskey that Pace had "it." At least that's the story out of Halas Hall.

But no, I'm sure they settled for Pace because the Bears intentionally hire the dumbest people with the worst intentions. That was supposed to be sarcasm but honestly reading it again, I'm not sure it's incorrect at all.

Both good trades, even if the picks don't pan out.

If he deals Forte, especially if he deals Forte and Bennett, he does really risk 0-16. Good for #1 overall, but you don't want to join that club. Otoh the Bears no matter how bad they are usually beat the Vikings and Lions at least once.

Nice to see Virgina was willing to White Flag this season knowing full well as she is currently dead she will not see another win.

He better hope his injured #7 overall pick goes to the Pro Bowl next year...maybe he will, but until then his grade holds at an F.
First round picks must play football on Sundays...right away.
