The Score was inducted into the Chicago Sports Hall of Fame tonight at a ceremony at the Wintrust Arena, and Mitch Rosen accepted the award on behalf of WSCR. As it turned out, both Mac and Jimmy deCastro were there and I got to speak with them for a few minutes during the cocktail hour prior to dinner. Mac was gracious with his time and it was clear that Jimmy is a big fan of his. During Mitch's acceptance speech, he mentioned most or all of the early WSCR personalities, specifically Shaer, North, Mac, Boers, Murphy, Hanley, Jiggetts, and Grobber. He also included Doug and OB in his remarks. He said that Shaer, Mulligan, Holmes, Ron Gleason, and voice guy Russ Mitera were in attendance in addition to Mac and deCastro. Other inductees were Kevin Butler, Rob Ninkovich, Porter Moser, and a few others. |

Man I would have blew it and asked Mitch when he was firing Dicaro. Cool story tho. |
