Dunno, could have been. But easily one of the nicest, most magnetic people I've ever met. Bill Clinton would be next. Scalia was easily the most reptilian famous person I've met.

And Hawaii, no I never worked in politics.

I forgot to mention Ali- we used to service the vehicles they kept at their Michigan compound. He was very nice before the Parkinson's got really bad, and still was an imposing figure after.

Also, I met Telegram Sam, nearly as famous as Muhammed Ali, and just as pleasant to a commoner like me.

I have ascertained that RR was either a high-end coke dealer or elite hitman.

EDIT: I just read the parenthetical addendum to the thread subject.

So did I...twice

So, swap out MJ and Dent and substitute Stevie Wonder - fundraiser.

Mayor Daley’s right-hand man was at my wedding in the late-90s.

Nobody really knew much about him then. But he’s been pretty much in a state of constant investigation in the private sector for the past 20 years.

Dan Rostenkowski was a friend of my father in law and attended my wedding. I received a gift from him in an envelope that I found in my tux pocket. I’m unaware of how said envelope got there. I might of been intoxicated. Or distracted or both.

Briefly met and chatted with Billy Payne who was the Chairman of Augusta National Golf Club shortly after he took the position.

In the late 70s, I was on the Dan Rostenkowski Youth Baseball team, which I think was one of the first travel teams in the area. Our main rival was Ed Vrdolyak's team.

Was warned about but still got into a cussing match with Emanuel within 20 minutes of meeting him.

Emanuel certainly had a way about him. I walked past him at the Hilton one time (had never met him), and out of the blue he asked to use my cell phone.

He was large man. Met George Ryan too shortly before he went to prison. I can’t remember if rostenkowski was a that wedding or not. I spent most of it watching Giants vs Angels in the bar. I believe those are the only two formerly imprisoned Illinois politicians I’ve met. Carol Mosley Braun and Dawn Clark Netch have avoided the hoosegow correct? T

Carol Moseley Braun actually hit on me at a campaign event. She sat down next to me at a rally, turned to me and asked me for a foot message. Her Nigerian boyfriend/campaign manager was not amused.

speaking of dan rostenkowski why is his cardboard cutout behind homeplate at Sox Park? I saw the game last night and I could swear it was his picture unless it's someone else who looks just like him.

Are you serious? That's awesome.

I have an original photo of the Pope from his trip to Chicago in 1979 that was passed on to me by my grandmother, who was Polish. It's of him in his limousine waving to the crowd with his sombrero hat on.

It's ironic how bad the world has gotten since the good Pope left us.

Interesting fact about Karol Wojtiwa: It's been written about him that he had the ability to see actual spirits. I don't doubt it.
