at her new restaurant The Boarding House. The place looks great. Alpana does not. She has the body of a much older woman but she has a very nice personality.

Often when you see pictures of her, she looks like she is cross-eyed. Kind of creepy. She tweeted me though, so I have that going for me.

so what exactly is the body of a "much older woman?" Are you talking fat or something else? Saggy boobs? Wrinkly ass?

another person in my group felt the same way. You know my response.

I must have made an impression because my brother came in later and she was hugging him and asking him and asking him why he had moved from the seat I had been occupying.

I didn't eat. I was there for drinks.

FWIW = I heard she is quitting "Check, Please!" to focus on the new restaurant with her hubby... not sure who is replacing her.

I like Alpana as the host. She doesn't really overpower the show or guests with an air of superiority. But the puns. My God, the puns...

I like her as a host well enough. I think she was one of the youngest sommeliers (sic?) ever when she started. You don't really get that pretentious "serious foodie" vibe you get off some of these culinary show host-types

JEANNIE: You see..(points to his collar) To me this is a waste.

JERRY: What?

JEANNIE: The shirt you got on under your sweather. It sits for three weeks in your drawer, waiting to come out. and when it finally does . It sticks up only half an inch out of your collar.

I don't think she is married but she is quitting the show to focus on the restaurant

She is married, unless she recently divorced...

Don't give him any ideas.

I would bet he already through his name in the mix. He might even do a decent job. Can you imagine how much he would abuse that job with freebees?

I will miss her as well. I think she does a great job and keeps things pretty real. I wish her luck with the restaurant.

She seems like a pretty down to earth person. I think it was time to move on from Check Please. I thought it was a really great idea and actually checked out some of the non-pretentious, non-douchebag hipster-style restaurants and found some winners. That being said, I have no real motivation to go to her new restaurant.

I'd do her. Crossed eyes and all.

I liked her on Check Please. That being said, Alpana reading a TelePrompTer sounds kinda like Matty doing a fake Sports Minute. She should stick to discussions.

Somewhat related, would it be sexy to pour red wine all over a chick in the bathtub and then drink it off her? What about a wine bottle up the cha-cha? Or might that be a little too close to the look of vaginal bleeding?

Wow, just read the wikipedia on that. They mention he received burns to both buttocks, but no mention of how that happened.

I ate there last weekend. It was hit and miss. Very little wow factor to it. Would highly recommend the brussel sprouts and the lemon cheesecake though.

The decor is amazing though -- I'll give them that.

Saw Alpana on the way out... she was escorting patrons to and from the elevator. She looked exactly like what I was expecting.

Go with a Pinot Grigio. Problem solved.
