97.1 midday DJ. Had dinner with our group on Saturday. Nice guy, but its clear he goes up to Michigan to be with his family and get away from everything. And the pic of him on the WDRV website has got to be at least 10 years old.

I checked the website earlier today to see this old picture and noticed the Now Playing icon had "All Apologies" by Nirvana. Even the Drive has to play Nirvana now? Ugh, gross.

CH, The Drive started out as what's technically called a "classic hits" format when 97.1 FM started up over a decade ago and have become as close to a classic rock station without calling themselves that. It's not just Nirvana. They've also played some harder edge AC/DC, Aerosmith & other bands that would be called classic rock now...even it's some 2 decades or so old.

It's also hard to believe that Bob Stroud was the very first voice heard on the radio station that now sounds a lot like The Loop before Merlin Media took over.
