Walking through the Shops at Ceasars, stop into the Sports Mem place, starting talking to the manager, who went to Lydon HS, long time chicago guy, asks if I wanted to meet Rice, i say sure. Brings me to the back room and Jerry Rice signing away, he was doing a private , then public signing. Says he was happy to take the break as he was sitting in this tiny room signing 100 balls.

First thing I said was "Anyone one of my WR's can catch a bullet in his teeth".

Rice then asked if I know his college coach, Archie Cooley...The Gunslinger....which ididnt , just remembered the guy saying it when Rice was drafted. Then let them man get back to signing.

They ran 5 WR's on almost every play. dont remember the other guys , but it was a fun offense to watch,

didnt want to keep him, but thought about it all after I left. Thought there was 2 other great NFL prospects with him on that team.
