Did the two of you bond over your shared hatred for Dan Bernstein?

I'm not a huge huge fan, but dude has put together a damn impressive body of work. Top tier rock HOF'er.

Jeff Tweedy hasn't put together a damn impressive body of work. Uncle Tupelo and Wilco have. Without Nels Cline or the two Jays, Tweedy is either self-indulgent (A Ghost Is Born) or exasperatingly boring (Sukierae). But when he has the right partners, he's terrific.

no. take all his own stuff, throw away the bad half of it and the rest is terrific.

What's "his own stuff"? The band's best two albums were as much Jay Bennett's as they were his, and Sky Blue Sky was fully collaborative. I still love Tweedy (as in Jeff Tweedy, not his "solo project"), but he needs other voices in the room to thrive.

I used a very similar line about myself when I talked my wife into marrying me.

The stuff he is listed as the songwriter. I assume in that case, he is the primary creative force behind a song. Wilco had a string of like 6-7 albums which were easily 4 stars on the Rolling Stone scale. how many bands can claim that?
