Alas, the Beat Kitchen hasn't been a dive bar since the mid-1990s.

It's pretty much a yuppie bar in a yuppie neighborhood. That stretch of Belmont is home to a lot of antique shops, pet groomers and nail salons. The edgiest establishment in the general area is probably Scooter's Frozen Custard--at least on days when they're serving their "Elvis" Concrete.
