Well, Scorehead is obviously a guy with a ton of disdain for the city. He shouldn't be able to reconcile that with liking the teams with the city in their names.

I think we all know that without the city we couldn't have the superior suburbs.

I have no idea how you reach the conclusions that you do.

Regarding Jerry, if he would have built new cominskey in the suburbs, the Sox would have drawn a lot of Cubs fans to Sox games. It's safe to say that building the new park where they did has proven to be a mistake. Dog days and free blow job night still doesnt draw flies to cominskey.

I hate to admit but they should have said fuck you south side and made a Mall of America/Baseball Stadium in western burbs. In fact if they did all that minor league stuff would not exist today.

Jerry doesnt invest in risky stuff. The UC was probably his riskiest investment ever and we all know that was based on one guy, who they paid some amazing insurance premiums on.

And, Jerry didnt want to drive out to the suburbs. See how I tied that all in for you BRick.

Not true Biggie. Jerry tried to move the White Sox out to Addison in the 80's. They had a plot of land just off 290 all picked out, but the town had a referendum to decide whether it wanted the Sox or not and the town decided against it. had the vote gone the other way, the Sox would reside in Addison today.

They were never going to Addison (or St. Petersburg) except as a last resort. Reinsdorf knew Jim Thompson was going to carry water for him and he got exactly the deal he wanted.

Correct

The only other REAL option was the South Loop
