So, the story breaks that during post production of the Ben Affleck episode of the PBS show "Finding Your Roots", Affleck requested that they omit the revelation that his ancestors owned slaves. They apparently did so.
There is Douchebaggery afoot.

Interestingly enough, of the 5 they did the biography on, 4 of the 5 done this season had slave owners in their families, and it was told.

Well I can trace my dad's family back to a single guy that came to Virginia in 1680 something. He had to work to pay some debt for that passage. I am gonna guess he or someone right after him got in on the business as well. Go back far enough it isn't rare.

I thought I saw today where PBS pulled his episode, or the series, or something, entirely because of him being given too much access.

I can see both sides of it ... Affleck doesn't need the mouth-breathing asswipes and opportunists looking for something to bitch about that has exactly jack-shit to do with him ... and I can see a network being pissed that he was allowed to edit his own bio piece in this way.

The take-away from all this is vote for me.
