I would say that only one guy (maybe three) lied in this instance. The problem is that there were many people who so badly wanted the lie to be true, they could not see that it was obviously a lie. And some of them are reluctant to admit that it was a lie even now.

Why do you suppose that is?

Why don’t you educate the class and tell us why?

Why do you suppose that is?

Because victimhood has become social currency.

How did that happen?

The answer to that is too long for a message board.

That's the false narrative that MANY don't want to see. It isn't one side.

In this particular case it is. No?

Oh I thought you meant in general.

Yes it is one sided in this case.

Aside from being completely tired of seeing this drama queen's smug jagoff face everywhere I click, I guess I just wonder....
What if it was a hate crime? I mean, is it really worth reporting non-stop for almost 3 weeks, with the constant denials from the cops, the lawyers, his utter bullshit GMA interview, etc etc. No one knew who this guy was before, why does anyone care now? So if someone called him a n word f word, and slapped him around for a minute, in the grand scheme of things, is the world supposed to stop just because Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, AOC, Chris Cuomo, Don Lemon, Joy Behar, and every other fucking whackjob tells us this is the MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE IN THE COUNTRY????
Jesus Christ, this is getting more round the clock coverage than the fact that a Wisconsin girl watched her parents get shot right in front of her and was then kidnapped and kept under a fucking bed for 3 months. Yeah, it was news when she escaped....for a couple days, but the MSM is treating this "G-ay Tupac" story like it's fucking 9/11. Was that story about the 4 BLM criminals beating the everloving shit out of a an autistic (or whatever he was) white kid on Facebook live leading off the news for 20 days straight?
I long for the days when I never had to worry about Jussie Smollet media saturation exhaustion. Fuck him, fuck his stupid show.

Good points. I think that part of the reason shit like this gets played so much on the national stage is that it gives the media assholes more time on the air to pontificate how sympathetic they are and have such a moral highground over mere mortals. And then correspondingly, it lets them point fingers at and attack regular folks on the matter.

From the start, his story didn't add up. But the Media sure ate it up, because it involved an opportunity to cast blame for an "attack" on not just a minority, but a gay one, who has been very critical of President Trump to boot. They hit the trifecta! Gotta run with it. No need to be sure the facts are credible, just go with it, because it fits our narrative so well. I am sure they will NOT crucify Smollet for having perpetrated this hoax, as they did the "alleged attackers" who were said to be white, bigoted Trump supporters, because each time they talk about this now, it will be a reminder of how badly they screwed up in the first place. I have to give some credit to Al Sharpton, who has stated that he hopes that Jussie Smollet (if it is proven he manufactured this hoax) will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. This from the guy who championed the Tawana Brawley charade. While I hope he winds up getting some jail time, but for a gay guy, hell that might just be Club Med to him.

Got a quote for you, Jbills:

Kamala Harris wrote:
"OK, so, I will say this about that case," she said. "I think that the facts are still unfolding, and, um, I’m very, um, concerned about obviously, the initial, um, allegation that he made about what might have happened. "And it’s something we should all take seriously whenever anyone, um, alleges that kind of behavior, but there should be an investigation," Harris added. "And I think that once the investigation has concluded then we can all comment, but I’m not going to comment until I know the outcome of the investigation."

Perfectly fine commenting (she called it a lynching) when the news story was in its infancy, and the only "facts" were Smollett's claims, but now not so much.
