smattering (there were maybe a dozen people in the lower bowl section we sat in) of fans there for
the Blackhawks boo'd for the entirety of a tribute speech to the recently deceased old man Wirtz owner dude.
I imagine his family had to be in attendance that night as well.
Blackhawks went on to win how many, 3?, stanley cups after that--look-out for the Bulls return to Jordan era greatness.

You're on to something here. I bet Reinsdorf has had a bug up his ass about Krause's treatment for the last four years and has been itching to do something about it and make everyone properly appreciate him. They knew fans would boo at the sight of him and had all the "shame on you, Thelma Krause is the most wonderful woman who ever lived (and Jerry was a talented GM)" stuff locked and loaded. On some level they had to know. It wasn't just about honoring Krause (he already has a pseudo-retired-number banner), it was about relitigating the Last Dance narrative yet again.
