Heyward in the 6 hole, really?? You fuckin Dbag prick...it took you 4 months to move him out of the 2 hole ...I don't care if he's the highest paid player on the team or in franchise history..he needs to bat 9th when there is a DH and 8th when playing NL rules..

I'm waiting for innovator Joe to use a DH for Heyward and let those fantastic hitting pitchers bat 4 times per game

I thought Maddon adopted LaRussa's bat-the-pitcher(or worst hitter)-8th thing LaRussa pioneered right before he drove his truck across someone's lawn.

Remember when he was the best and I told you they were all the same. I guess you found out. Time to hire a mime or something!

You know I've always wondered why you can't DH for whichever player you choose, but it can only be done for pitchers.

Yeah, if you don't DH for the pitcher you lose the DH. I believe Joe "The Genuis" Maddon did that accidentally once in Tampa.

"Best manager in baseball" to "at least he's better than Robin" is a tremendous fall from grace in just a year for Merlot Joe.

It was a rib at JORR, thanks for laughing

It does not matter tho since managers do not matter.

He did. They still won 7-5.

I am getting tired of the position switching shit. This is what happens when you burn through the entire roster in 9... your 36-year-old SP has to pitch the 11th.

I agree. You're gonna win this division. Learn how to eat a game, Joe Maddon. You're warming up 36 year old Lackey in the bullpen in late July when you have a 7 game lead? Really? That's just dumb.

Yeah, I still don't think the ends justify the means here. This was supposed to be Rondon's day off, too.

Well....we know a good Cubs team has blown a 7 game lead before....but more recently, I've also seen a very good Sox team nearly blow a 15 game lead....so this game could be really important in the standings. I doubt the Cubs will have much trouble winning the division, but if you have the chance to win at this point in the season, you have to take it. Two months left.

Make no mistake about it, this being a national game influenced Maddon. He wanted to show the world how smart he was.

Yeah, they won. But this win might cost them 2 or 3 losses. Cuz he was warming up Lackey. Who knows if that will effect him for his next start. And he made an over taxed Rondon go 2 innings.

But it was the big Sunday night national game. So Maddon couldn't resist.

Valid point. What scares me even more, though, is seeing pitchers play out of position.

Yep, no one is laughing if they're scraping Travis Wood off of the left field wall. Though the funny thing is, I'm not sure if Schwarber makes that play.

He probably doesn't. Travis Wood is a pretty good athlete.
