Has to be the most annoying police department in the Chicago suburbs. Constantly lurking around, writing speeding tickets.

If they just sit in front of the Section 8 housing, people get cranky. It's easier to just collect revenue from people speeding down 75th Street.

Last time they got me was a few years ago. New Years morning on Janes. The manpower they waste on setting speed traps is ridiculous

Janes is a good cut thru but you pass all the municipal stuff so they seem like they are always around. Super easy path to speed on.

LaGrange was pretty bad for them when I was young.

Back in the 90s, a friend of mine got a ticket for doing 32 in a 30 on Willow Road in Northbrook at 3am. Funny thing was that I told him to take Lake Avenue through Glenview instead, but he didn't listen.

Speaking of tickets, do meter maids still give you physical paper tickets in Chicago? Or have the maids been replaced with remote cameras? I was parked downtown south of Harrison a few weeks ago and didn’t pay the meter as I thought I’d only be a few minutes. When I got back to my car, no ticket. Today I received a $70 ticket in the mail. Sucks that it’s $70 when a speeding ticket is $35 in the city. And the zone I was in was hardly the “downtown business district.”

Schaumburg Police Department. When not selling drugs or prostituting their girlfriends love to get you for petty shit like looking at a phone at a stop light.

Robbins waits for unsuspecting truck drivers getting off of 294 not to make the immediate left turn at the stop light to stay on the truck route. If they turn from the wrong lane, they get a ticket. If they go straight and look for a place to turn around, they get a $1000+ ticket for leaving the truck route.

My grandparent hometown (and oak lawn).

In my day the burbs cops that were most notorious were Wayne’s 2-3 cops. Had nothing else to do but I’d they didn’t know you as a local you were dead meat on Army Trail.

They can and do patrol private parking lots for expired tags. Gestapo tactics.

Robbins doesn't come in contact with 127th-cicero.. You mean crestwood? Alsip?

Must have been Alsip. The 57/294 interchange cut down on the issue from what the carriers were saying, this was at a workshop I was moderating a few years ago.

But I did get a paper-ass ticket slapped on my car November or December 2019.

amazing the differnce.

When I'm in Chicago I often wish there were more police on the highways to slow down crazy drivers.

I didn't think speed traps were done anymore in the suburbs. I never notice them these days.

North Avenue through Carol Stream might be the only place I ever drive where I'm afraid to go 1 MPH over the speed limit.

the 75th street corridor that runs through Naperville is one long trap from Rt 53 all the way to Rt 59

Ditto on Carol Stream. Also give Northwest Highway in Palatine on a Saturday morning a try. In the 3 mile stretch between Rohlwing and Quentin there are often 3 cops laying in the weeds waiting to drop tickets for going 2 over the limit.

They have police. Though it pays around minimum wage for a lot of the jobs as they are mostly part time.
