If that's the concern, I suggest not selling beer at all.

This is just stupid. They cancelled the early game yesterday when it could have been played, and now they do a back to back doubleheader with no alcohol sales in game 2?

It has to be some sort of law they are following. You know JERRY would like to sell as much as he could.

why would they do that? There have been doubleheaders for a long time and as far as I know they have always had beer.

The modern man is so refined he can't be trusted to drink without destroying the ballpark. His great grandfather who had a fourth grade education and ran a printing press when he was ten years old could drink straight through 18 innings of a twi-night doubleheader without fucking shit up.

Who amongst us can say they ran the bases at Old Comiskey except I?

I'm still relevant 40 years later.

They only had a 1/2 break between games, right? If it was a day-night, I don't think this policy would have been in place, but they must not have kicked people out in between games? Seems odd, and not well thought out, but probably another bad law in place.

Good God, look at all the foul area in play behind the plate-

I was actually there that night as well, by happenstance. Family is big Tigers fans, Grandpa was into the cheap double headers. I will have to ask my sister if she has gotten the slides from that year digitized yet...

The guy in the on deck circle could score on a pass ball in old Comiskey. Loved that old place. Watched that disco thing live and remember it like it was yesterday.

Found out why no beer, several reasons.

1 game 1 day before when they canceled it they had to pay them 8 hours for standing around
2 not enough people to justify the extra workers.

There probably would have been more people if they were selling beer. I know everyone wants to cater to the "family of four", but the real truth is that the beer-drinking fan carries the freight.

Also, there were many stands that weren't open even during the first game on Saturday. Walking down a dark concourse really isn't the best advertisement for your product.
