The days of "serving and protecting" are long gone (if they ever did exist.)

Now they are an army of armed tax collectors put out to shake down the citizens because the state/local governments know we won't put up with them visibly raising taxes to find revenue.

There is no such thing as a "war on police" in this nation (although Fox news sure things there is). I have to ask this question, would a "war on police" really be that awful of a thing for society?

Who carries out such laws? The armed tax collectors of course. Cops know what they are signing up for when they put on the badge and should be treated with scorn, not seen as heroes

Greed is good.

Or so I've been told.

I'm hardly anti-police, but everyone should know to never say a word (other than name, date of birth etc) to police without a lawyer present.

I don't see the point in being hostile with police.

forfeiture law really sucks. its a tool that people think keeps criminal activity at bay but doesn't work at all except dealing with little fish but often times it hamstrings their families and causes a ton of bull shit that they can't afford to deal with.

The amount of paperwork involved is completely ridiculous. There was a case here some time ago where a little old black lady was trying to get her car back in the Quad cities. her kid or grand kid used it to make a drug deal got caught and it took her like a year or some shit to get it back. completely ridiculous.

and police can claim they are just doing their job and they kind of are, but they get the jurisdiction to pick and choose.

ultimately i'm cordial to police officers. there are tons of great ones that do a great job and care about their community but so many of them are just sick and tired of scum bag bullshit, they themselves become scumbags.

Both officers decided it was a good idea to shoot a pregnant woman that they knew had a mental illness.

and it goes without saying that the murderers will walk. A badge is a license to rob and kill in this country. Don't worry though, plenty of bootlickers will come along to defend the killers here.

I just hope when there are protests that people stop closing down highways. If you want an effective protest, target the police stations. Target the offices of the politicians who protect them. Block the police employee parking lot.
