Can't blame people for getting excited about the eclipse. We have so few shared cultural experiences these days that we have to take what we can get, even if that's the moon blocking the sun for a couple minutes and driving down to bumfuck Carbondale and Jefferson City for it. Incidentally, there's a storm rolling in and it's darker from that than it was for the eclipse. |

I was playing in a golf outing on Monday at Bowes Creek and they handed out glasses to everyone to use during the eclipse if they wanted to look at it. I was far more interested in focusing on golf, having seen an eclipse before. What the hell is the big deal? The sun gets blocked for a short period of time.....whoopee. |

I anticipated the team winning a title with all the exceptional talent they collected, but knew it wasn't going to make my life any different.
