I didn't realize it was a country "music" concert ... at least some good news came out of this.

Seriously. She is a vice president and senior counsel to CBS. Normally lawyers advise other dumb corporate stooges from making statements like this. Not do it themselves. How dumb is this lady?

IMHO, this stuff is what happens when people start to believe too much in the current climate. Regardless of what that climate is. This year it is very out in the open to resist and oppose from a left point of view. If all you hear and see around you are people feeling free to spout whatever comes into their minds they drop their guard and oops. You are fired.

yep, 100%.

And the best part is 99% of them haven't "woke" to that obvious statement yet so they keep piling it on.

2 of the last 3 Presidential elections were won by a Democrat, and I am willing to bet the midterm elections will lean left.

The country goes back and forth, and has for years. Nothing randoms say will change that.

The Democrats have faced unprecedented losses in this decade. Yes, they can win the White House, because that seems to be all they care about now, and cultural liberalism is doing great, but the Democratic Party in its current form is failing miserably at electoral politics.

I feel like the Twitter echo chamber has killed the Democrat Party more than anything. It has put them in a bubble where they feed off of their worst ideas without getting a sense of how those ideas play to the general electoral public.

The Democrat Party has so many built in advantages to win elections that it isn't even funny, but they toss them away for crap that the blue checkmarks push. All they had to do was give lip service to the rust belt and their blue wall, which held for 24 years, would've ensured an electoral college victory.

I would say that despite the results of the 2016 election, Hillary had an advantage of the electoral college. If you looked at pollsters like Nate Silver, they considered it a strong possibility that Hillary could win the electoral college while losing the popular vote. This is due to the blue wall (PA, MI, WI). Those states had not gone blue in a generation and would've allowed Hillary to win, even if she lost Florida and Ohio.

Hillary could have easily won those states (and any other Dem candidate not named Hillary would've certainly won all of the 5 above states) if they just had a reasonable economic platform that spoke to the blue collar voters in those states. That was the Democrat's bread and butter. Clinton and Obama each got 2 terms by speaking to those people, but Hillary ignored them. Trump spoke to them and outright lied to them, but by speaking to them he earned their vote.

The blue checkmarks pretty much shit all over those people so Democrats running for office ignored them.

They come from a more emotionally likable perspective. You have to be pretty heartless to disagree with the stance that we should "help the poor".

Perpetual minority votes and a sympathetic mass media.

The wealthy and those that have corporate interests are more republican leaning, correct?

Doesnt their money offset many of these advantages?

not necessarily. there is a lot of big business wrapped in "progressive" ideologies. corporations that feed off gvt intervention and regulation.

Yea, as I typed that I was thinking of how much Hillary spent but I would guess it's still more on the other side when all elections are accounted for.

The wealthy donate to both parties. Not equally for the most part.
