I'm on this call with a client of mine, and multiple people from that company. Some woman (I have no idea who this person even is), joins about 5 minutes late and just starts talking and interrupts the entire conversation that was taking place.

I hate people who join a call late and announce themselves that they are on the line. If you're 5 minutes late, just shut the fuck up, and don't talk unless the topic is relevant to yourself.

Beep beep!

Beep beep!

Okay, we’ll go ahead and get start... Beep beep!

Beep beep!

Okay, we’ll give it five more minutes...

I love when about half way through conference calls or Web Ex meetings you here people drop off as soon as they realize the meeting is pointless, and they want to get back to real work.

Same with modules we have to take annually like ethics training or privacy training. Put that fucker on auto pilot and work on something else.

I love when people say their name at the automated prompt before you enter the call. Then when they leave the call early it says, "Leash has left the call." The presenter, like a CFO, will usually say something like, "I guess I bored that guy to death."

Or when every time the the phone beeps the host stops and asks, "who just joined?" Then, after the pregnant pause, three people speak at once which of course means no one can understand what they just said

i work in the education technology field. The conference calls i'm on revolve around who can buzzword themselves into being king buzzword. "what we are trying to facilitate is a cloud environment that is capable of prioritizing the app flow while not saturating stochastic queuing" *beep**hnd has left the call*

or someone has a set up that creates echos that just continue into infinity and nobody can figure out who it is so they just ask everyone to mute themselves until they are ready to talk. then half the people forget this and there is either long spells of silence while a person muted is talking or people unmuting themselves mid sentence and don't start over.

Let's hear from Jorr.

Silence.

Are you on mute Jorr?

Not anymore! Hahaha. Sorry about that everyone...

And then we all do the fake work laugh like we haven't had the same situation happen every single week since conference calls were invented.

My company got bought out about 6 years ago, and during those first few conference calls with the new bosses, I never heard so many stupid ass buzzwords in one meeting in my life. I wanted to shoot the next person who used triage.

Someone should develop a technology to disrupt the current comference call paradigm.

Nothing stopping you from using someone else's name at the prompt.

Great point....the next time I'm late for a call, I'll use the name "turd Ferguson"
