that sounds wonderful except that most fast food places (the ones i have been at anyone) have only one and you are at the mercy of the knuckleheads in front of you either not knowing how to use it properly or they are playing mr. wizard with the flavors.

That most assuredly does blow BUT that's not on the machine that's on the ham-and-eggers that should be on top of that. Especially annoying if it's the chain's/location's special flavor (e.g., Dave's Cream Soda or Cherry Cream Soda @ Wendy's) that's out.

I do enjoy these machines (especially the cherry creme soda at wendy's), however two things: 1. some places need to do better cleaning the screen. It looks like it will give me hepatitis. 2. NEVER get ice from a soda machine. They never clean the ice maker/holder.

Nope, mofo is the guy that after I pay for a drink and get my cup, simply wants to get my drink poured and sit down without having to wait in line for something that should be quick and easy. I’m not rude about it. I stand there and wait my turn like everyone else.

The raspberry Sprite is pretty fucking great.

I will take your advice and try it. I tried Fanta Cherry the last time and it was ok. Better than I thought it would be.

I just refill once and the 2nd refill is like half.

Also, why do they even offer those super duper cups that look like you could take a dump in? With those machines there, get the smallest cup for the cheapest price and just refill that. I have never had to deal w/ lines at these places.

As long as you can avoid the heart of the lunch rush it's usually not that long a wait, but like somebody said earlier, they should not let seniors near the machine. The backup looks like the Ike during rush hour.

I am really torn on this. I think I am going to go ahead and agree on the douchebagging, because the non-tech people screw up the system for everyone. This is the same problem with the self checkout line, but in this case, there is no other option. They leave these people to fend for themselves, with no idea how to operate things. I also think best practice would be to provide two of these machines... could you imagine an OTB with only one betting machine? A guy is trying to place a $0.10 win bet, while you are sitting there third in line with two minutes to post.

I almost had to slap my kid in the head over one of these machines. We went on a trip last summer and were in West Virginia for a food stop. The place had one of these machines and my son also worked at 5 Guys so he had some knowledge.

After we all got our food and drinks I saw a bunch of people backing up in the soda line and looking puzzled. Turns out my laughing kid had known the reset/reboot code from work and started the process.

I wanted to kill him and teach him a lesson but I couldn't stop laughing at the rednecks.
